Join our dynamic team at Georgia-Pacific as we seek a skilled Digital Printing Quality Associate to contribute to the success of our Digital Printing manufacturing business at our Phoenix Hummingbird facility. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining and enhancing the quality standards of our products as we strive to become a world-class manufacturer and distributor of Digital Printing.

A successful candidate in this role will be a principled entrepreneur, someone who performs well with limited oversight, and is comfortable in challenging the status quo and improving our quality process and procedures.

Position: Digital Printing Quality Associate

Location: Tolleson, AZ

Shift: 1st Shift ( 6am - 2pm). Flexible schedule when needed.

Salary: 26.50/hour

Reporting to: Quality Manager

Your Role, Responsibilities, and Expectations:

Quality

• Conduct troubleshooting and perform routine maintenance or calibrations on laboratory testing equipment.

• Complete all mandatory training within specified timeframes.

• Conduct thorough inspections and analysis of incoming materials and consumables.

• Utilize communication tools such as Teams for seamless collaboration with different departments and facilities.

• Assist in developing, implementing, and refining Quality Standard Operating Procedures to ensure adherence to best practices, rules and regulations, and required laws.

• Leverage Statistical Quality Assurance (SQA) tools as necessary.

• Verify completeness and accuracy of daily production documentation, daily sanitation, and daily quality documentations as needed.

• Serve as a dependable backup for the System Quality Analyst.

Systems

• Support press operations by leveraging knowledge of Color, Print, and Pre-press or Graphics.

• Utilize workflow systems to accurately and promptly manage quality specifications of all print jobs.

• Work with automated equipment and applications used in inspection and quality control.

• Apply knowledge of quality and safety regulations and guidelines (SQF, BRCGS or other regulatory body) in production process.

Problem Solving, Continuous Improvement, and Resolution

• Contribute to and assist in any Root Cause & Corrective Actions (RCCA) investigations as required.

• Assist in the investigation of historical data in response to customer complaints, ensuring a swift resolution.

• Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality processes.

• Assist in continuous oversight of Quality Management System (QMS) data through regular inspections and both, internal and external audits.

• Provide support for both internal and external audits.

Production Support

• Monitor the quality of printed products and prepare, complete, and document all automated system inspections.

• Collaborate closely with press operators and supervisors to address any safety and quality concerns or issues and remedy them.

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience within a manufacturing environment, totaling three (3) years or more in a support capacity.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including a solid understanding of Excel and SharePoint.

• Proficiency in data entry and analysis.

• Eagerness and ability to quickly learn and execute various testing procedures to ensure accuracy, safety, and quality.

• Ability to work in a cross-functional team to maintain proper product safety and quality practices.

• Flexibility to accommodate extended, rotating, and weekend shifts as required.

• Competence in performing administrative tasks independently.

• Understanding of manufacturing food safety standards, policies and procedures or interest in acquiring knowledge.

• Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration across all organizational levels to optimize quality systems.

• Strong prioritization of the safety of all employees, including reporting any safety related issues and concerns.

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field or scientific discipline.

• Previous exposure to corrugated packaging, folding carton, printing, or Point of Purchase (POP) display industries, with a focus on data integrity, quality assurance, or regulatory affairs.

• Knowledge of quality and safety regulations and guidelines (ISO, SQF, BRCGS or other regulatory body).

• Familiarity with GMG Open Color, GMG, or Measure Color.

• Experience working with automated equipment and applications used in inspection and quality control.

• Prior engagement in a Quality-focused role or department, with experience in delivering technical and program information to management team in alignment with company policies and procedures.
