Position Purpose:
Must know all QA aspects in the CNC Department, including Center Bench, Splining, Lathe Turning, Heat Treat, In-process and Final Audit. Ability to validate conformance to all Brunner and Customer Specifications.
Hourly Pay Range: $18.00 - $21.00
Essential Functions:
Maintain Environmental, Health, and Safety Standards in the workplace
Read blueprints and Engineering Specifications to obtain product information, such as specified material, surface finish and dimensional requirements
Examine material or product for surface defects such as cracks, pits, and other deformation, and aesthetics
Rejects parts by processing DMR paperwork, noting location of defect on parts
Measure all applicable blueprint requirements, using variety of instruments, such as, but not limited to snap gauges, mics, calipers, pin gauges, profilometer and height gauges
Validate operator compliance by FPQ, in-process and final audit
Provide manufacturing with accurate data to kick off the problem solving process
Participate in Gauge Studies
Retrieve records to review customer rejects and traceability
Communicate at all levels in the Department such as Department Manager, Supervisors and Operators
Any additional requests made from the QA Supervisor, Manager or Manufacturing Supervisors
Education and Training
High School Diploma or GED, (1) year minimum in QA Inspector
Quality Stamp (QF-62a), CNC QA Work Instructions (WI-357a), Gauge Maintenance, basic knowledge of MS Excel, Gauge Studies and PPAP
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
Must be able to present information in a one-on-one or to small groups
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Must be able to perform the same for metric unit of measurement
Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished, written, oral or diagram form
Must be able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Physical Demands
Regularly required to walk, talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle or feel
Occasionally required to sit and reach with hands and arms
Frequently lift and or move up to 12 pounds
Occasionally lift and or move up to 30 pounds.
Must have clear vision; both at a distance and close, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Environmental Conditions
Exposure to a noisy work environment
Exposure to hot and humid conditions
Exposure to coolants, oils, grease and water
Ear and Eye protection required at all times in all production areas
Steel toe boots with metatarsal guards are required at all times
