Quality Assistant

Summary: Performs essential job functions related to limited supervision. Required to assist the Quality Manager and meet customer requirements.

Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities): The primary duties consist of, but are not limited to the following.

• Analyzes all submitted documentation before shipment of customer parts.

• Accurately prepares and completes certifications before shipment and corrected certs as needed.

• Maintains quality system database, with a good understanding of ISO 9000/AS9100.

• Performs internal audits.

• Assists Quality Manager as needed or required while performing other tasks as assigned or dictated by the position.

• Bring any irregularities, discrepancies, or concerns to the supervisor immediately.

• Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.

• This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer's inventory and as such will perform duties safely and responsibly to prevent customer loss or damage.

• Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.

• This position must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.

• Education - High school diploma or equivalent experience.

• Minimum six months of working experience in thermal processing, metallurgy, customer specifications, etc.

• Blueprint reading preferred.

• Two years preferred in quality organization in industries such as heat treating, manufacturing, metallurgy, aerospace, and/or military specifications by education or experience.

• Must possess strong verbal communication skills, and a professional and patient style in dealing with customers and staff.

• Must be precise and detail-oriented.

• May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.

• Must have knowledge by experience or training in basic math.

• Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.

• Knowledge and hands-on experience of computer applications including Microsoft Office and databases is required.

Physical & Mental Demands: The following physical and mental demands consist of, but are not limited to the following.

• Must be able to work in a sitting and/or standing position for extended periods of time in an industrial environment.

• Manual dexterity to perform data entry functions.

• Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach to perform functions.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.

• Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.

• Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

• Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.

• Ability to hear in person and via phone.
