ABB/T&B is looking for Quality and Operational Excellence Manager in Ormond Beach, FL. This role will mainly be Quality Management oriented but it has a small business Operational Excellence component to the role. Candidates with strong Quality Management in manufacturing are encouraged to apply to the role. This Quality Manager will manage and control the quality programs in accordance with customer and company requirements. Establish procedures for maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and safety. Determines and enforces though functional groups, quality and safety requirements in accordance with real company needs, based on current regulations and state-of-the art product/process development. Organize and promote plant quality improvement efforts. Evaluate and develop improved techniques for control of quality, reliability and safety. Directly responsible for implementation and maintenance of ISO compliant quality system, reporting on the performance of the quality system for review and as a basis for improvement of the quality system. The Quality Manager also has responsibility to act as liaison with external parties on matters relating to the quality system.
Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Develop and implement quality management strategy and plans, including resource, systems, timescales, financials, to support, contribute to, and integrate within, the organization's annual business plan and long term strategy.
Develop and maintain systems to establish standards relating to activities and products by consulting with engineers and production personnel regarding quality assurance of new designed and manufactured products.
Develop and maintain systems to measure performance against established standards.
Monitor performance (in relevant areas) according to agreed standards and take necessary action to communicate/advise/assist according to performance levels.
Monitor and inform/communicate/apply standards created/maintained by external bodies, and integrate within internal quality management systems.
Establish and implement necessary communication strategy for the improvement and awareness of quality issues across all departments.
Plan and manage departmental activities in accordance with agreed budgets and timescales.
Report as necessary on changes in standards (internally and externally initiated) and on performance against standards.
Manage staff according to company policies and standards (appraisals, discipline, training, development, etc.).
Manage departmental performance against agreed targets and budgets.
Liaise with customers and suppliers where necessary (where impacting/affected by quality issues)
Contribute to executive policy and strategy.
Execute the responsibilities of a company manager according to lawful and ethical standards.
Maintaining all quality certifications via conducting internal audits and establishing schedule.
Managing all registrar and customer audits.
Manage customer complaint system and maintain metrics and drive issues to closure.
Responsible for supervision of all quality engineers and inspectors.
Increase Plant quality culture through training awareness and shared learning's.
Bachelor's degree and 8 years of Quality, Engineering or technical field experience
Minimum of two years in managing technical personnel and complex activities.
Any experience with Operational Excellence projects.
Exceptional analytical, communication and leadership skills
Quality Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
ISO 9001 certification process knowledge and experience
Prior Six Sigma training and/or certifications is preferred.
Solid understanding of math principles, charts and graphs
Strong understanding of operational processes
Proficient understanding of statistical process analysis
