Job Description:

JOB OBJECTIVE: Ferguson, the country's largest plumbing wholesaler, is looking for a new associate to support the efforts of Product Integrity and Risk Management with the goal to ensure that our products are safe, meet all the industry standards and regulatory requirements, and are sourced from reliable and responsible vendors. This position will be focused on documenting, tracking, and investigating product failures reported in the following areas: HVAC, Waterworks, Tools and Safety, Maintenance/Repair/Operation (MRO), and Plumbing. Work closely with Ferguson global teams, vendors, and others to coordinate and continually improve our processes. Support our Waterworks, HVAC, MRO, Rough Plumbing, and Tool & Safety teams at Ferguson as their central point of contact (CPC) for Product Integrity.


  • Provide outstanding customer service to internal and external customers

  • Investigate reports of product failures to determine root cause and work with suppliers for corrective actions and resolutions

  • Coordinate the appropriate product testing through internal or 3rd party laboratories.

  • Be a team leader for Corrective Action Teams (CATs)

  • Draft and issue product recalls and product advisories as required

  • Review data to identify where further actions are warranted

  • Work closely with other Product Integrity Analysts to function as a cohesive team

  • Maintain accurate data on products and issues

  • Follow and develop Best Practices and Standard Operating Procedures as needed

  • Incorporate Lessons Learned into our policies and procedures so we have continuous improvement

  • All other duties and tasks assigned by management


  • Minimum 2 - 5 years of experience in a related field preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology or other Engineering field preferred, but an otherwise well qualified candidate with an Associate Degree in an engineering field may be considered

  • ASQ Certification Quality Engineer, Analyst, Auditor, or CMQ/OE preferred but not required

  • Ability to read and understand technical specifications and information required

  • Product knowledge in HVAC system or equipment, Waterworks, MRO, Tools & Safety, or plumbing are all helpful

  • Be a fast learner with a strong attention to detail

  • Have a commitment to excellence with an acute degree of accuracy

  • Strong computer and reporting skills including business intelligence software, Office 365, Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint; SalesForce is helpful but not required

  • Technical writing skills required

  • Ability to analyze complex data and issues and produce actionable solutions

  • Strong process orientation

  • Ability to prioritize and manage deadlines

  • Ability to handle stress and work well in a fast-paced environment is required

  • Ability to work well independently and as a team

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)

  • Effective listening and interpersonal skills with poise and maturity to interact with global management, vendors, and customers

  • Support and enforce corporate policies and initiatives

  • Work the hours needed to complete the assigned job responsibilities which may exceed the standard work schedule
