Summary:

The Qualification Test Engineer II possesses knowledge of industry test standards and strong technical expertise in the associated environmental and electromagnetic interference methods. Their responsibilities include determining test equipment requirements and measurements based on product specifications and supervising the effort from contract award to final deposition.

Requirements

  • Determine test requirements, including necessary test equipment.

  • Communicate with Engineering Managers and Program Managers necessary deviations to customer requirements.

  • Organize and/or attend meetings with teams to discuss project tasks and schedule to meet deadlines effectively.

  • Develop and implement test methodology, new test fixtures, and processes.

  • Generate program test procedures and reports, create Qualification by Analysis or Similarity documents.

  • Supervise outside laboratory tests.

  • Train and work with personnel, assist in diagnosis and repair of failed items.

Qualifications

  • BSEE or BSME required.

  • 3 - 5+ years related experience in a Test Engineering environment.

  • Proficient in use of a computer and Microsoft Office Applications.

  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering documentation such as specifications, schematics, assembly drawings, and component data sheets.

  • Have a strong understanding of Military and Commercial standards such as MIL-STD-461/ 810 or RTCA/DO-160G.

Language Skills

  • Must have good oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.

  • Self-motivated, and possess a high degree of curiosity and desire to learn new things.

  • Ability to take initiative and multi-task within a fast-paced environment.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • In depth knowledge of general purpose test equipment and automated systems.

  • Strong understanding in the EMI testing Environment.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing and test of high reliability circuit card assemblies and their associated chassis.

  • Experience in 3D modeling, Thermal and Vibration Analysis.
