The Qualification Engineer is responsible for producing high-quality technical documentation and manage the workload within the Technical Publications Team. They are responsible for the review of customer specifications and the preparation of related documentation to assure that all supportability requirements are defined and delivered on time. These documents include, but are not limited to ATPs, QTPs, QTRs, Maintainability Reports, Maintenance Manuals, etc.
The incumbent will also provide leadership and guidance to the Technical Publications Team and engage them to collaborate with the broader technology, commercial, operation teams as well as external vendors and customers as necessary to gain an understanding of the product, data, and requirements. Ensuring accuracy and completeness of technical documentation.
Provide leadership and direction for work activities conducted internally or with outside service partners.
Drive quality and on-time-delivery of assigned projects.
Continuously identify and drive improvements within team and throughout the organization.
Ensure ongoing collaboration and support to the Technology Team and internal and external customers.
The Qualification Engineer will create, edit and revise a wide variety of technical documents based on available source data including customer Statement of Work (SOW), Supplier Data Requirements List (SDRL), Specifications for standard testing.
Responsible for the development of the technical and commercial proposals and coordinating the on-time delivery of the proposal documentation to the Proposal Manager.
Ensure technical accuracy and quality of technical publications in compliance with customer requirements.
Facilitate and participate in round table reviews with functional teams as required.
Ability to work with configuration management team adhering to company standards and practices.
Develop, modify, and maintain technical documentation for new product introductions: Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP), Qualification Test Procedure (QTP), Qualification Test Report (QTR), Similarity Analysis Report (SAR), Component Maintenance Manual (CMM).
Ensure all activities are performed on time using daily management tools and teams resource tracker.
Multi-task across several projects and requirements.
Bachelor's Degree required
Minimum five years of related experience in technical writing preferred
Project Management experience preferred
Experience with requirements capture tools such as Doors or Polarian preferred
Computer-aided design (CAD) experience preferred
Proficient in using Microsoft Office products including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio
Experience with professional publications software such as: Adobe Framemaker, Illustrator, Adobe PDF, XML, SGML, Structured documentation ATA 2200, iSpec 2200, Arbortext S1000D preferred
Ability to interpret and comprehend technical information
Ability to work on multiple products and meet timelines
Willingness and ability to travel (0 10%) of the time (domestic and international)
US Citizenship or Resident Alien status required to support government programs and projects
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Good team player with customer focus
Ability to multitask and problem solve
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Must be able to comprehend and interpret technical drawings, illustrations and specifications
Good communication skills and teamwork is expected of the Qualification Engineer to effectively coordinate efforts within the organization
