Seeking Experienced Avionics Technician

Aero Air, LLC, a premier aviation company in the Pacific Northwest, is seeking an experienced Avionics Technician to support our repair station's avionics needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with Lear 31/35, Pilatus, Phenom, Mustang and Gulfstream, or any combination of these aircraft. We are looking for highly motivated people who will take pride in being part of our team.

Essential Duties;

  • Research technical data and perform inspection, testing, adjusting, and repair of avionics equipment.

  • Inspect components of avionics equipment for defects, such as loose connections and frayed wire, and for accuracy of assembly and installation.

  • Test avionics equipment under simulated or actual operating conditions to determine performance and airworthiness.

  • Continual use of test equipment, such as oscilloscopes, digital meters and counters, and circuit analyzers.

  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective components based on analysis of test results.

  • Read and decipher blueprints, schematics, handbooks, and other technical documents.

  • Calibrate installed or repaired equipment to prescribed specifications.

  • Occasional travel to perform duties away from base.

  • Repair and maintenance of Company equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • FCC License preferred.

  • A&P License desired but not required

  • Garmin experience extremely helpful.

  • Corridor and maintenance/parts manual access software is desired.

Required Skills and Qualifications;

  • Three to five years of experience in related aircraft avionics.

  • Post-secondary education or training in aircraft maintenance or equivalent combination of education, training or experience.

  • Demonstrated use of hand tools and equipment

  • Minimum 18 years of age.

  • Ability to travel 10% of the time.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.

  • Ability to organize and plan work, adhering to deadlines; attention to detail

  • Mathematical skills required.

  • Acceptable results from a pre employment drug screen and criminal background investigation.

Relocation reimbursement consideration available. Position description: Senior AOG Technicians are primarily assigned to the Erickson Aero Tanker fleet of government-contracted aircraft. Estimated required travel is 60-70%. * Perform the required maintenance or avionics service, troubleshooting and or repairs needed for aircraft anywhere in the United States in which the aircraft is located. To include locations which could include remote areas where modern conveniences may not always be available. * Coordinate and manage the adjustment, repair, or replacement of malfunctioning components or assemblies, including the assembly of components such as switches, electrical controls and junction boxes using hand tools or soldering irons. * Coordinate the troubleshooting of instruments, components, and assemblies, using circuit testers, oscilloscopes, or voltmeters. * Adhere to all FAA Regulations, the Aero Air Repair Station Manual, Operations Manual and all other Quality Manuals and or Regulations, ensuring that all documents are signed off completely, properly and timely in accordance with standard operating procedures. * Coordinates all activities with management and other crew chiefs as necessary. * Responsible various critical tasks including ordering parts, completing accurate documentation, inspections, operation tests, preliminary post-work inspections and work orders. Qualifications: * 8 years' experience in Avionics Systems is required. * Experience in MD-80 series Aircraft desired but not required * Certifications- A&P License desired but not required. Additional background in sheet metal and systems a plus. * Ability to organize and plan work, adhering to deadlines; attention to detail. * Mathematical skills required. * Computer Skills - Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) is required. Corridor and maintenance/parts manual access software is desired. * Reading comprehension required understanding of written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents. Required ability to follow verbal instruction. * Ability to interpret and apply technical data relating to position. * Ability to operate applicable equipment and work without supervision. * Ability to lift up to 80 pounds. * Ability to wear personal protective equipment. * Travel is required 60% -70% of the time * Education- High School Diploma/GED and required certifications listed above. * Valid US driver's license with clean driving record.
