About QPID

QPID's artificial intelligence engine uses natural language processing and machine learning to extract and synthesize usable clinical facts from both structured data and narrative notes in patient records. QPID's Chronic Care Management (CCM), Clinical Decision Support and Quality Reporting applications leverage EHR integration to optimize revenue and drive care decisions, without adding to the burden of clinical documentation or depending on costly manual abstraction.

We are searching for qualified candidates who have an interest in working as an intern at QPID. In this role, the intern would:

  • Work on engineering projects that contain most of the elements of the software design life cycle, including, analysis, design, build test and deploy

  • Design and implement creative software solutions for a broad range of problems.

  • Work with product management to make sure solutions address all requirements.

  • Collaborate with peers and architects to ensure correctness of solutions and compatibility with platform.

  • Incorporate an expansive set of unit tests to provide reasonable test coverage and protection from regressions.

  • Characterize performance of solutions for adequate speed and scale.

  • Document solutions clearly and work with QA organization to ensure proper testing.

  • Function within an agile scrum team, embracing all tenets of scrum.

Minimum Experience Required

  • Enrolled in a fully accredited program for a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics or similar.

  • December 2019 or May 2020 expected graduation

  • A least one summer previous industry experience preferred

  • Experience with Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, or Data Science

Required Skills

  • Strong programming skills in a high level language, preferably Java

  • Familiarity with diverse set of computing technologies including Linux, Python, Bash, SQL, JavaScript
