A DAY IN THE LIFE

The QMS (Quality Management System) Associate works with MAQS Stack District Offices to implement and maintain the MAQS Stack QMS. This position monitors district offices' QMS compliance; assists with investigations and implementing and documenting corrective action; reviews data, equipment, and project records; maintains personnel records, roster, and other routine recordkeeping (60%). It develops and updates training and guidance documents, internal exams, SOPs, other reference materials, and the QMS SharePoint pages and database (20%). The QMS Associate performs and reports internal audits; participates and assists with third-party audits and management reviews (10%). The position includes some travel (≤10%) for onsite audits, training, or conferences. Promoting continuous improvement, monitoring data integrity, and supporting a high standard for ethical conduct are key responsibilities of this position.

  • Assist in the management and maintenance of the company's QMS and accreditations

  • Work in conjunction with district and regional staff to complete internal and third-party quality audits to maintain compliance with ASTM D7036-04, NELAP, and other state and regional accreditation requirements

  • Demonstrate discretion and good judgment when dealing with sensitive company and client data

  • Assist in the development, utilization and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), internal qualification exams, policies, training, manuals, and other documents

  • Write or edit documents, including but not limited to memos, training records, audit and management review reports, SOPs, forms, and templates

  • Coordinate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action Plans (CAP) with district and regional staff

  • Maintain QMS records

  • Research and implement applicable requirements regarding the accreditation of Air Emissions Testing Bodies (AETB)

  • Assist the MAQS Stack QMS Team in all aspects of the quality management processes, including but not limited to identification of nonconforming work, corrective action, document control and revision, control of records, auditing, and system management review

  • Assist in the training and development of source testing staff members in the area of quality management, with a focus on having each individual understand their role and responsibilities within the QMS

  • Assist with office clerical and support services, including copying, scanning, printing, and document production

  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager

  • Participate in training for career development, safety and maintain required certifications

YOUR EXPERTISE AND SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science or related field is beneficial

  • 2+ years of general office experience beneficial

  • 2+ years previous field testing or laboratory related experience preferred

  • Previous experience with air test methods, permits, and regulatory requirements beneficial

  • Previous quality management experience related to the ISO17025, TNI FSMO, NELAP, or ASTM D7036-04 standards beneficial

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) is beneficial

  • This position is generally sedentary work that primarily involves remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods

  • Must have the ability to lift 50-60 pounds using Company provided equipment

  • Experience with Workday preferred
