Conducts quality assurance, monitoring, or surveys of Intermediate Care Facilities/Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities or Related Conditions (ICF/IID), and certification activities to ensure compliance with protocol and regulatory requirements. Serves as a member of an interdisciplinary team to assess active treatments, health issues, and other required areas during surveys and inspections of (ICF/IID/RC) facilities to determine compliance with federal and state regulations.

Essential Job Functions:

Maintains a regular and predictable schedule. Completes inspection/survey reports listing deficiencies and prepares written reports supporting the actions and remedies recommended.

Conducts exit conferences with facility staff regarding findings and may assist in developing a plan to correct deficiencies. Conducts certification surveys, licensure inspections, or investigations in facilities to determine compliance with federal and state regulations. Performs quality assurance reviews of documents or materials prepared by others (for example, publications, assessments, reports). Communicates on an intermediate level with others (internally or externally) to provide, exchange, or verify information, answer inquiries, address issues, or resolve problems or complaints.

Testifies at hearings or in court proceedings to provide information regarding policy/procedures, history, findings, or activities. Leads review teams responsible for evaluation compliance with agency, state, or federal requirements. Provides orientation or training to staff, providers, other agency staff, or the public on processes or procedures. Knowledge Skills Abilities:

Ability to operate personal computers and software.

Skilled in performing quality assurance monitoring, certification, survey, and/or investigation of health facilities.


Registration or Licensure

Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a human service field. (including but not limited to sociology, special education, social work, psychology, rehabilitation, counseling, humanities, allied health, behavioral science, early childhood intervention, and medical administration and should be licensed or certified in accordance with state law.) Must successfully complete state and federal training and become qualified to conduct surveys independently in the ICF/IID program within the first 12 months. Initial Selection Criteria:

At least one year of experience working directly with persons with Intellectual Disabilities or other developmental disabilities. (Note: This experience can be obtained prior to or after obtaining the required degree).

Experience assessing and implementing active treatment, health care services for individuals with Intellectual/ developmental disabilities/related conditions preferred.

Preferred experience explaining and interpreting or overseeing compliance with state and federal licensure regulations and standards.

Flexibility in work hours required for this position. Job requires 85% travel.

Requires some overnight travel and some weekends. Must have reliable transportation. Ability to use the computer for writing reports.
