Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Comply with all BOS, ISO/TS-16949 and Customer Specific requirements. Reference the ADIENT BOS Responsibilities Matrix for all requirements related to this job title. * Understands Plant/Customer KPI's and works with team to meet and exceed. * Participates as Layered Process Auditor if instructed by Manager. * Responsible to ensure that continuous improvement is made in all Production Quality deliverables (e.g.: RTY, Craftsmanship, RPPM, CPPM, SPPM and Warranty / JD Power). * Provide support on PPAP package preparation for product submissions and approval by appropriate Customer personnel. Obtain approval of submission packages from the Product Service Manager or Quality Manager prior to submission to the Customer. * Develop and update Control Plan as required. * Support the Manufacturing Engineer in updating the PFMEA as required. * Develop appropriate inspection plans and containment plans. * Utilize all Customer-specific systems (e.g.: Daimler-Chrysler PRISM, GM PRR, Ford WERS). * Responsible to conduct capability studies, and ensure that they are properly performed and documented for special characteristics, and that Customer and internal requirements are met (or a written Customer deviation is obtained). * Support the continuous improvement of the Operation Description Sheets (ODS). * Identify and utilize the appropriate statistical tools. Mentor team members on proper statistical application and techniques. * Interface with assigned external customers as the single point contact for issue resolution. * Responsible for completion of any customer specific advanced quality planning requirements. * Responsible for writing and submitting 8-Ds to the customer in a timely manner. * Visit the customer on an as needed basis. * Communicator between the customer and the plant. * Initiates the Quality Alert when concerns arise and follow the alert until it is closed. * Confirm all customer return material analysis root causes and corrective actions. * Monthly Performance Review of Customer (PPMs, 8-Ds, Corrective Actions, Performance, etc.)* Completes customer Trip Report when necessary. * Follows up on all 8-D revisions until closure of concern. * Total Customer Satisfaction - #1 Priority. (Must have full support from management and production). * Performs other duties as deemed necessary by the Quality Manager. #CB* Bachelor's degree or equivalent of a minimum of 3-5 years of Quality experience in the Automotive Industry preferred. Good understanding of Manufacturing processes. * Quality / Problem Solving Tools: Understanding of CORE tools (certified preferred), Experience on 8-D Problem Solving Methodology/tools is preferred-(KT/5 whys/fishbone etc), Internal or External Auditing training preferred. * Other Skills / Abilities: Proficiency in Excel -including charting, MS Word, PowerPoint. Must be computer literate and familiar with appropriate software programs and databases. Demonstrate knowledge and key contacts in other functional areas. (HSE & E, ME, Materials, Launch, CI, Management, HR, Finance, Lab). Ability to create visual aids for communication purposes. Ability to create comprehensive reports to customer and management of quality performance metrics.Intangibles * Willingness to take on tasks outside of customary responsibilities and displays a positive attitude. * Shows Initiative, excellent communication skills. * Experience dealing with customers/Internal & External (Program Managers, QE's, other departments...)* Ability to work well in a team atmosphere. Must be able to work well with others either as the leader of the group or in a subordinate capacity when working with members of management. * Good Decision Maker, when provided the necessary tools, is able to make sound manufacturing decisions.
