  • Perform analytical laboratory testing using instrumentation and wet chemistry methods

  • Safely and efficiently operate laboratory and process equipment in accordance with Company Policies, procedures, and work instructions.

  • Perform with guidance:

a. Laboratory testing.

b. Specialized analytical testing.

c. Environmental and safety monitoring.

d. Project or pilot/plant trial work.

  • Conduct testing/lab work in accordance with specified methods, agreed timetables, ensuring accurate results.

  • Maintain laboratory supplies and the inventory of retained samples

  • Undertake and successfully complete training and development activities. (Provide on the-job training for others as required.)

  • Identify and share continuous improvement ideas that may enhance process, product development, safety, and cost reduction.

  • Maintain lab documentation in lab notebooks as required.

  • Promote and maintain adherence to food safety, food defense, and compliance with Food Safety Standards as defined by FSSC 22000.

  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping.

  • Investigate equipment failures to determine root cause and provide resolutions

  • Coordinate effectively with management to ensure analytical capabilities are in line with production requirements.

  • Participate in internal and external audits.

  • BS or MS in Chemistry or related filed

  • Experience working in a laboratory environment.

  • Familiarity with various laboratory analysis techniques used at Symrise (GC, GC-MS, XRF, MP/BP, FT-IR, RI, Colorimetry, Polarimetry, pH, etc.)

  • Thorough understanding of food safety and chemical hygiene practices.

  • Familiarity with the Jax & CI process flow.

  • Excellent organizational skills, analytical thinking ability, and effective communication skills are essential.

Strong Time Management skills.

The ability to work as a team player in the laboratory while maintaining a strong rapport with plant operations.

Possess a thorough understanding of Symrise safety policies and procedures.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Agilent Chemstation and SAP.
