Position Summary:

This position's responsibilities include QC testing in the Reagent and Consumables Manufacturing department at ProteinSimple. The primary responsibility will be working with QC and Production teams to schedule and test Maurice and Simple Western consumables in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Run protein assays for reagent and consumables QC

  • Precise and meticulous observation and recording of all details of the assay, which are not limited to but including: lot numbers, and physical observations of materials

  • Perform regular maintenance of testing equipment

  • Keep a clean and organized workspace

  • Maintain inventory of reagents and consumables needed to perform assays

Physical Requirements

  • Daily pipetting and computer work

  • Occasionally lift and/or move objects of 10-25lbs

  • Frequently required to move throughout the laboratory

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • BS in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline preferred

  • 1+ years' experience in Manufacturing

  • Fundamental laboratory skills

  • Experience with working with large data sets in MS Excel

  • Experience with LIMS, MS Office: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

  • Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail and quality

  • Understanding of basic statistical principles

  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team

Education and Experience:

  • BS in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related discipline preferred

  • 1+ years' experience in Manufacturing

General Summary This position is responsible for sampling, testing, and inspecting construction materials or elements in a laboratory or field setting to ensure compliance with the supplier and/or owner specifications. Level IV technicians must satisfy one of the following standards: (1) test, sample and inspect at least three construction materials or elements in both a laboratory and field setting; or (2) test, sample and inspect all four construction materials or elements in either a lab or field setting. This position is also responsible for design of soils, HMA or PCC in order to comply with supplier and/or owner specifications. * The QC Technician Level IV position description may be superseded by wage classification(s) in local collective bargaining agreements. Essential Job Accountabilities * Ensure compliance with the supplier and/or owner specifications by collecting and preparing construction material samples. Level IV technicians either: (1) test, sample and inspect at least three construction materials in both a laboratory and field setting; or (2) test, sample and inspect all four construction materials in either a lab or field setting. Construction materials include soil, aggregate, hot mix asphalt (HMA) and Portland cement concrete (PCC). * Perform quality control testing on at least three of the above construction materials in both a lab and field setting or all four construction materials in either a lab or field setting. * Perform inspections on at least three of the above construction materials in both a lab and field setting or all four construction materials in either a lab or field setting. * Perform design of soils, HMA, or PCC in order to comply with supplier and/or owner specifications. * Train level I, II and III technicians on sampling, testing and inspection of construction materials to prepare them for additional certification. * Prepare and communicate testing and inspection results to supervisors to ensure quality control standards are satisfied and process changes can be implemented. * Participate in and promote Granite's safety procedures to promote a safe working environment. * Comply with OSHA and MSHA rules and regulations in order to perform duties in a safe manner. Education/Certification * High school diploma required. * Regional or State Agency certification for material being sampled, tested, inspected required. * NICET III certification desired. Work Experience * 4 years of related experience required. Knowledge, skills, and abilities * Basic computer skills, intermediate proficiency in Excel. * Good oral and written communication skills.
