Overview:

To support Quality Assurance Inspection and/or Laboratory activities through inspection and verification of manufactured product, materials, and documentation associated with the manufacture of medical devices at this facility.


Summary of Position with General

Responsibilities:

The initial focus of this role will consist primarily of documentation review and/or verification to ensure compliance to company SOPs and good manufacturing practices throughout the entire DHR.

Essential job Functions:

  • Inspect product and raw materials to specified parameters using sampling plans in accordance with documented procedures.

  • Set up and use basic test equipment for verifying linear (point to point) characteristics of product, i.e. steel scale, calipers, micrometers, drop indicators, laser micrometers, optical comparators, height gages, snap gages, etc.

  • Set up and use basic test equipment for verifying physical characteristics of product, i.e. tensile testers, leak & burst testers, etc.

  • Perform visual inspection of product with and without magnification as well as being familiar with the associated equipment, i.e. Lux lamps, microscopes, eye loops, Tappi Chart (ST8001131), etc.

  • Verify completeness and accuracy of Device History Records and test data following appropriate procedures.

  • Collect, document and maintain accurate manual and computerized records.

  • Initiate documents following appropriate procedures.

  • Proficient and consistent in performing laboratory test methods

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be able to understand laboratory test methods and equipment.

  • Must be able to demonstrate visual accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Perform basic calculations, i.e. total tolerance range, count reconciliation, significant figures, etc.

  • Perform basic data entry and familiar/comfortable with using computers.

Additional Desirable Qualifications Skills and

Knowledge:
  • High school education with proficiency in reading, writing, and math skills including algebra.

  • Previous medical device manufacturing or inspection experience preferred.

Education and/or Experience:

High school education with proficiency in reading, writing, and math skills including algebra.

Physical Demands:

Occasionally requires light physical effort as in periods of prolonged standing, sitting at machines or work tables or bending, stooping or reaching and/or lifting of object from desk to chair weighing 30 lbs, above shoulder weighing 30 lbs, push/pull 64 lbs, chair to floor 50 lbs., carry 50 lbs (2 hands); 25 lbs. one hand. May require some exposure to chemicals used in manufacturing processes.

Work Environment:

Some minor physical inconvenience or discomfort occasionally present in the work situation (moderate noise, disagreeable odors, etc.). OR occasional exposure to minor injury or other health hazard requiring some precaution.

The Glens Falls Operation manufactures over 20 different product lines serving all Bard Divisions Summary of Position with General Responsibilities: Performs any combination of tasks involved in the manufacture and assembly of medical devices as well as setting up, operating, performing maintenance on and troubleshooting equipment. The responsiblities of this role include Satin Grind and International Bipolar functions, as well as, learning Grinder Set Up operations. Build up spray is intended to spray many layers of polyurethane mix to achieve product diameter. Responsible for making chemical mixes, managing product through spray and bake operations while minimizing downtime and wasted material. Essential job Functions: * Working with chemicals, reading and writing, following specs, MSDS. * Managing flammable waste. * Communicating well with other build up team members. * Responsible for following safety policies and procedures. * Responsible for following all required GMP's and applicable manufacturing procedures. * Perform a variety of duties to assemble all types and sizes of product, components, and sub-assemblies using a variety of standard and specialty assembly machines or hand operations. May be required to press, bond, solder, flare, strip, clamp, sand, weld, mount/takedown or inspect for appearance, gauging of parts by "no-go" or "go" gauges and set fixtures. * Shows the ability to consistently meet daily production goals while building a high quality product, part or subassembly to specification. * Works with Production Clerks to help facilitate inventory accuracy. * Follow department procedures on material replenishment. * Provides assistance to MOB engineering including MRB investigations and ESM production. * Assists in training of manufacturing personnel. * Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance team performance. * Must be able to work flexible or extended hours and report to work on a regular, punctual basis. * Ability to get along with people and be able to work in a team environment. * Other related duties as assigned.
