As a Quality Control Lab Technician for PPG Industries, your career can have tremendous potential. Our Quality team examines our industrial coatings and their performance from every angle testing, measuring and evaluating our products with a critical eye and making pass/fail determinations for quality, consistency and shelf-life. It's a very hands-on role; we'll rely on you for everything from panel preparation and review, to helping us investigate customer concerns. You'll work with team members across our business, from production to logistical planning and scheduling, to ensuring quality runs through every facet of the customer experience. After all, it's our name on the line.
Performs physical and analytical tests on in process samples, intermediates and finished goods.
As a member of the team, the candidate will have responsibility to produce quality work with speed and accuracy.
Person will also be responsible for in process and fill start samples for the fill bench at times.
Works with Technical and Process Team to make sure we manufacture and process formulas as efficiently as possible
In addition, they are responsible for completing customer related service items such as investigating customer concerns, providing COA & pre-ships per the customer's expectations, and providing panels for new customer requests.
High School diploma or GED required.
A minimum of 2 year's related work experience is preferred.
The QC Technician II must excel in all aspects of QC testing, measuring, and panel preparation.
Individual must have the ability to make final PASS/FAIL determinations after product evaluations, and must have attention to detail, be able to document items clearly, provide accurate direction to others, and be able to handle numerous tasks simultaneously.
Must be willing to work overtime as required and have the flexibility for continuous changes in daily assignments.
Good verbal and written communications skills along with strong problem solving skills are essential.
Computer skills and knowledge are required to work on QC computers and networks.
