ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Gather in-process and finished product samples on a regular basis. Label sample containers with identifying data, location of sample, and time collected.
Assist the Lead Quality Control Technician in performing QC Procedures. Actual analyses performed will depend on work location. All analyses to be performed in accordance with written and/or verbal instructions.
Identify and gather material that may need thieving, or reanalyzing to make certain all products meet all customer, and internal specifications.
Accept any emergency call-outs when Relief QC Technicians are unavailable, or if circumstances require, work overtime to make certain that a QC Technician is working in the QC Lab, whenever one or more mills are operating.
Identify and report any materials or equipment needing maintenance.
Maintain adequate supplies of materials in the workplace.
Assist in the training of new QC Technicians.
QUALIFICATIONS / COMPETENCIES

Education / Certifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Skills: Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents, such as, compliance documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Have the ability to write routine correspondence.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Windows computer operating system, and Microsoft Office 2010 programs, Prism Solutions software, IFS (MRP software), and Internet Explorer
Ability: Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
