Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis in accordance with relevant Good Manufacturing & Control Laboratory Practices.

  • Ensure that analytical microbiology results are checked, approved, recorded and available for inspection.

  • Ensure that equipment used is maintained and calibrated to appropriate standards

  • Manage water & environmental sample collections and processing.

  • Assist as needed with completion of quality systems processes (e.g. OOS/QDR/CC) in line with current SOP's. To assist with implementation of effective CAPA.

  • Maintain audit readiness standard at the agreed level.

  • Ensure high standards of laboratory housekeeping in his or her work area.

  • Maintain and support the laboratory quality systems.

  • The day to day prioritisation and organisation of individual workload to ensure that customer service and stakeholder needs are met.

  • Maintain the cGMP processes / documentation / systems that are relevant to their area, and / or as may be delegated by laboratory management.

  • Identify and escalate focussed improvements to activities within their section where viable.

  • Provide support to Regulatory Authority inspections as required.

Qualifications

Required

  • Requires a minimum high school or junior college level biology classes or related fields or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of 1 year full-time microbiological laboratory experience.

  • Requires experience with USP/BAM in performing bioburden testing, pathogen screens, environmental and water monitoring/testing.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with ability to work cross functionally

Preferred

  • Manufacturing environment preferred

  • LIMS and/or other data systems experience a plus.

  • Ideally experience in food, dietary supplements or pharmaceutical GMP/GLP.
