The Quality Control Inspector position is responsible for receiving and inspecting raw materials for conformance to specification requirements on purchase orders and basic item master data. This position works closely with various levels of the organization as well as external vendors.
Essential Job Functions
Compare quantity and part numbers of materials and deliveries received with purchase order along with other specifications to ensure completeness & accuracy of order.
Inspect and measure materials and deliveries for dimensional accuracy, fit, alignment, and functional operation of parts according to blueprints/ purchase order specifications using precision measuring instruments and devices.
Approve or reject materials and deliveries and record inspection and disposition information.
Maintain all controlled documentation files and test records in a timely and accurate manner.
Examine materials and deliveries for defects workmanship, and damage.
Assign heat codes and maintain accurate records of all documentation through electronic records and/or hardcopies filed by date.
Complete receiving transactions within JDE.
Communicate with vendors and intercompany personnel relating to quality trends, performance, and corrective and preventive action.
Maintain accurate inventory of all material received.
Complete all required cycle counts and collaborate with others to correct and ensure accuracy in the system.
Operate various powered industrial equipment and other material movement equipment.
Assist with year-end inventory audits.
Assist with reviewing and coordinating production schedules as needed.
Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Regular, in-person attendance due to necessary teamwork and personal interactive nature of this position.
Overtime is a mandatory condition of employment and frequent in this position.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (Competencies)
JDE experience preferred.
Ability to work independently or in a team.
Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with individuals at all levels.
Ability to efficiently utilize Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication skills both orally and written.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Manage and prioritize multiple tasks with keen attention to detail.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED certification required.
0ne to three years of related experience is preferred.
Base Compensation Range: $41,500 - $62,200 annually
Variable Compensation Range: Incentive bonus eligibility up to 10% of gross annual salary based on company performance (as of 2024).
