Job Title: QC Inspector

Job Summary:

The QC Inspector

  • AOI operates the AOI machine, performs quality inspections using AOI, and provides AOI support. Reports to Production Supervisor and is located in Newark, CA.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

1.Operate the AOI:

  • Responsible for the entire AOI operation/line support activities

  • Review AOI inspection for accurate, consistent detection of component placement and solder joint defects

  • Support and maintain test handlers, troubleshooting AOI machine whenever necessary to support production

  • Assist superior to carry out various studies for quality improvement, program, and cycle time optimization for AOI operation.

  • Work in close collaboration with the processing and engineering teams to improve visual defect yields and resolve processing issues

2.Perform AOI-related quality inspection tasks:

  • Inspect components or feature chips, ICs, joints, text, connectors, clips, screws, etc., using the AOI computer-operated machine,

  • Inspect populated printed circuit boards and identify component misplacement and solder defects to IPC-A-610 standards, using magnification aids and stereomicroscopes.

  • Read, understand, and follow customer's drawings, specifications, instructions, and requirements as they apply to inspect printed circuit board assembly.

  • Load AOI programs per instructions

  • Perform AOI inspection for accurate, consistent detection of SMT paste, component placement, and solder joint defects

  • Detect and report problems and issues in the operation process and components

3.Support engineers and production operators with equipment training, data collection, and system evaluations:

  • Assist engineers in data collection and engineering evaluations

  • Communicate defects to responsible personnel

  • Inspect populated PCBs and identify component misplacement and solder defects to IPC-A-610 standards using a microscope

  • Responsible for daily/shiftily yield, efficiency, and effectiveness report

  • Support improvement initiatives and participates actively to improve the work environment (5S)

  • Perform variety of duties in set-up and operation of AOI machine as defined in the work instructions for each process

Other duties and responsibilities related to AOI Support and Production as assigned.

Required Education Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience operating AOI equipment

  • High School Diploma

Pay Range: $18.00 - $27.00 / Hour
