This position is responsible for real time opening, inspections, disposition and re-wrapping of all REF Inspect Returns merchandise. He/she reports issues to the Returns/QC Inspection Lead for documentation, researches customer account comments and information in SAP and RP, and supports the Returns/QC Inspection Lead to ensure all End of Day (EOD) tasks are completed. This position reports to the Returns Manager.

Job Responsibilities

  • Confirm systemic resting location of merchandise and note lock code

  • Confirm systemic reason code of merchandise to aid in disposition

  • Use REF Inspect Report to gain all additional systemic information to aid in disposition

  • Using documented opening procedure, open packaging and inspect merchandise

  • Using all available systemic information and physical condition of merchandise, disposition to RTS, CLR, TRASH, REPAIR

  • Using documented opening and re-wrap procedure, fully package and secure merchandise for handling

  • Systemically relocate merchandise to new appropriate location

  • Take digital photos to support reporting measure within Return/QC department

  • Material Handling merchandise to and from floor location throughout shift as needed

  • Communicate with Returns/QC Lead and other Returns management staff to identify issues

  • Recognize trends and patterns in merchandise damages and report to Lead

  • Decision Making Responsibilities:

  • All decision making responsibilities are under the direct supervision of the Returns Manager. Work is performed within standard policies and procedures with opportunity for un-reviewed decision-making

  • Financial Responsibilities:

  • This position may affect driver's completion rates. Review and changes to a lock code or indirect changes to a TDM code may be determined by the inspector, within standard set forth by Returns/QC department, and reviewed by the Returns/QC Inspection Lead

  • Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities. May provide routine information and support to less experienced staff

Required Qualifications

  • High School or equivalent experience in a Warehouse atmosphere

  • Strong verbal/written communication and organizational skills

  • Skilled at multi-tasking and managing competing priorities

  • Working knowledge of Windows Applications including Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Detail oriented and accurate

  • Demonstrates ability to quickly recognize and diagnose trends and patterns in product damages and location of damages

  • Must be able to work flexible hours determined by the needs of the department including weekends and evenings

Direct blast of abrasive laden compressed air over surface of all necessary parts. Pending location, may use gas or liquid. Continuously maintain sand blaster hose at 100 pounds of pressure. * Visually inspect quality of finished parts to ensure that the product meets specifications. * Perform any needed production worker functions when not sand blasting. (Refer to Production Worker job description for details.) * Distribute materials by operating forklift, bridge crane and/or pallet jack. Move parts to, in and out of sand blasting booth. * Refills sand pot from floor of sand blasting booth. * Pending location, may help maintain blast equipment. * Additional duties may be assigned, dependent upon location and product line. QUALIFICATIONS * High school diploma or GED * 3+ months experience and/or training (technical school) or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Demonstrated ability to operate the air compressor and sand blaster in a safe and productive manner. * Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals written in English. This includes shop orders, transfer sheets and quality plans. * Ability to communicate verbally with co-workers in a productive manner. * Basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in all units of measure including whole numbers, fractions and decimals. * Ability to use tools in a safe and proper manner CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND REQUIRED TRAINING * Forklift Certificate * Bridge Crane Training * Pending plant location, Fall Protection Training * Pending plant location, Respirator Training and Fit-Testing To successfully perform the essential function of this position, employees must have the ability to: PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS * Frequently lift/move 25 pounds; continuously required to maintain sand blaster hose at 100 pounds of pressure (employee will use sand blaster a maximum of six hours). * Continuously stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms above shoulder height; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. * Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, reach with hands and arms at waist level and below the waist; and work in limited space. * Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
