Hormel Foods has an opening for a 1st Shift Quality Control Auditor. Successful candidates will work in our production facility located in Fremont, Nebraska, and enjoy competitive wages along with a comprehensive benefits package. Quality Control Auditor is a first shift position and works typically from 5:30 A.M. to as late as 3:30 P.M. with some Saturday and Sunday work required.
Incumbents are responsible for performing quality checks on the production line and enter information on quality control computer software system. For example, verify correct code date and ingredients on labels and boxes, perform weight control checks, package integrity checks, etc. Complete detailed paperwork, monitor, and report issues if process is out of specification. Some positions require lifting up to 50 pounds. Most work is performed in a cold damp environment with temperatures ranging from 36 to 95 degrees and requires standing and walking up to 8 plus hours per day. Daily and weekly overtime is often required.
Follow all company rules for food safety and employee safety.
The ability to lift/push/pull 50+lbs as required throughout the course of a shift.
The ability to twist and bend the body as necessary to perform job related tasks.
The ability to kneel/squat/climb as necessary to complete job related tasks.
The ability to perform grasping & pinching motions to complete job related tasks.
The ability to work in a hot/cold, soiled, and wet environment continuously.
The ability to understand basic USDA food safety practices (GMP's).
Minimum Qualifications Required
High School Education or Equivalent
Ability to follow specific auditing procedures
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work flexible hours
Wages range from $15.30 - $19.80 based on qualifications. Quality Control Auditors are performance based and will receive merit increases every year based on performance.
The work environment in Quality Control ranges between hot and cold temperatures.
A typical work week consists of an 8-8.5 hour daily shift, Monday-Friday with some Saturday & Sunday work.
