Job Description

Laboratory Responsibilities

• Performs bench role in assigned/trained assays (80-90% of clocked hours)

• Performs all duties relevant to the Quality Control Chemist position as required.

• Maintains laboratory supplies, media, and reagents inventory.

• Updates relevant databases and prepares monthly reports.

• Performs laboratory investigation reports where deemed appropriate

• Uses Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for sample and sample test result tracking.

Leadership Responsibilities

• Supports and monitors team of analysts

• May participate in new hire interviews

• Supports the on-boarding process of new employees

• Participates in training of other employees.

• Performs peer review of data.

• Assists in coordinating equipment maintenance and calibration.

• Participates in overtime and weekend schedule as required.

• Able to shift priorities quickly to meet the demands of immediate testing and help others pivot their focus when needed

Qualifications

The Ideal Candidate would possess:

• Laboratory experience (chemistry/biochemistry preferred)

• Exposure to working in a GMP environment

• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail

• Knowledge of ELISA

• Experience of capillary electrophoresis

• Familiarity with LIMS preferred

• Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Engineering, or other science-related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience

• Experience in Gel Electrophoresis

• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Information

The position is full-time, Monday-Friday 8 am - 4:30 pm. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Rensselaer, NY and the surrounding areas are encouraged to apply.
