Summary: This position is responsible for performing raw material, product and process measurements, using various types of equipment to ensure all meet specifications. Will create and maintain reports, logs and presentations. Expected to clean, maintain and calibrate measuring and test equipment. Expected to be familiar with a variety of standard quality assurance concepts and practices. Contributes to a team-structured environment, and plays a key role in Problem Solving / Root Cause Analysis projects. Continuous Improvement projects are supported by working with engineers, team leads and supervisors.

Manufacturing/Production Workers

Tasks:

Responsibilities:

  • Follows Safe Work practices and strive to improve the safety of the work environment.

  • Interprets product drawings and specifications, both customer's & TNB's

  • Conducts and reports product and process audits

  • Maintains logs, generates reports and maintains Process Quality Plan documentation

  • Determines acceptability of reworked product

  • Supports Corrective Action projects

  • Demonstrates proficiency in mathematical and statistical functions related to these skills

  • Applies Advanced Product Quality Planning practices, creating Process Flows, PFMEAs and Control Plans.

  • Communicates effectively with all levels of management, suppliers, customers and team members

  • Interprets industry specifications and regulations related to product design and function

  • Completes all agreed upon yearly objectives
  • Seeks professional growth through education and training

  • Completes all required Safety and Skills Training in a timely manner

  • All other duties as assigned

Duties are accomplished with minimal assistance and supervision.

Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required,
  • Minimum 3-5 years quality experience in manufacturing.

Perferred Qualifications:

  • 2 year college degree in a technical field preferred.

  • Nationally recognized quality-related training preferred.

  • ASQ Quality Technician Certification required within 1 year if not already have

  • Clear logical reasoning and ability to make decisions required.

  • Ability to maintain professional composure in stressful situations.

  • Blueprint reading, interpretation

  • Proficient in general office programs including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Knowledge of Problem Solving basics, i.e. Pareto charting, Fishbone diagram, 5Y, Correlation Statistics, etc.

  • Knowledge of general Quality Management Systems; ISO9001, AS9001, etc.

  • Understanding of Attribute and Variable Sampling Plans such as ANSI/ASQ Z1.4 & Z1.9

  • Knowledge of MRP systems such as: LX, SAP

  • Basic normal distribution statistics; capable of applying SPC

  • Ability to work variable schedule with overtime as needed

Position Summary Edgewell Personal Care is looking to fill a Quality Systems QA Supervisor position for its manufacturing site located at Ormond Beach, Florida. The candidate should have an expert level knowledge of Compliance and Quality through process, SOP's, Continuous Improvement and systems control. A fast-paced position that will participate in a wide array of quality events that will highlight ability to problem solve, develop technical reports and present information. Universal Accountabilities * Ensure the quality of products produced at Playtex Business Unit is consistent with EPC / Playtex Mfg. Inc. Quality standards. * Ensure the Quality Unit is functioning efficiently by assessing current processes and identifying ways to streamline or improve. * Ensure the timely closure of Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA) investigations. * Support Sun Care quality related projects: internal and external. * Communicates effectively with internal and external customers to resolve quality issues. * Creates reports for management, and other internal groups. Reports include validation related protocols and reports, trip, audit, and status. Specific Accountabilities * Perform risk assessments to establish what type of validation methodology used. * Work with R&D and Operations to determine and maintain formula families as a risked based approach to validation. * Perform Compliance Gap Analysis. * Develop and follow up Compliance Plan action items. * Procedural improvements by SOP re-writes to improve quality, compliance and efficiency. * System improvements to software. * Laboratory metrics to track efficiency and to identify areas of improvement. * Laboratory NOI's and CAPA's closure. * Aid in investigations of failures and deviations. * Process improvement to the Lab. * Instrumentation troubleshooting. * Protocol and Validation development. * SAP systems improvement. * Process and systems training. * Inspection Plan setup and review in SAP. * OOS review and approval. * Non-conforming materials investigation. Required Skills and Experience * Bachelor's Degree in related field * Qualification/Validation experience desired * Five years minimum experience working in a manufacturing environment in a quality related field * Five years minimum experience in an FDA regulated business or ISO:9000 Quality System * ASQ certification preferred * QC laboratory knowledge preferred Preferred Skills and Experience * Knowledge of CFR 210/211 and/or CFR 820 * Excellent communication skills, written and verbal * Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Office * Well organized person * Strong technical writing skills * Strong problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis tools * Strong statistics and sampling plans background Working Relationships * Position reports to a Quality Assurance Manager. * Close relationships with Marketing, R&D, Packaging Development, Consumer Complaints, APR, Quality Engineering and Corporate Quality groups * External engagement may include Suppliers, Service Providers and Contract Manufacturers Work Environment * Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time (auditing) * Ability to travel – ground and air * Work schedules may vary from typical business hours * Exposure to health risks or conditions that may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment Environmental, Health and Safety Responsibilities * Conform to safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. * Be aware of and follow the Environmental Policy and EH&S work instructions/procedures that apply to the job. * Performing every job safely, for the benefit of self, co-workers, contractors, and for the protection of facilities.
