Job Summary

CAI is seeking a Quality Assurance Test Lead to design and manage the testing efforts with a Cloud Based Vendor Portal project, which will contribute to the foundation of evolving QA/QC practices. This project includes integrating with SAP Enterprise Resource Planning Central Component (ECC), Supplier Relationship Management (SRM), Computer Aided Dispatch System (CADS), Law Trac, and associated services.


The selected Candidate will perform the following duties:

  • Actively lead efforts in all testing phases of the project by shaping the testing processes and strategies for each test phase

  • Lead and manage the test planning and test execution

  • Lead and participate in all test related meetings

  • Develop the test strategy, traceability matrix, test metric reports and test schedule

  • Review detailed documentation as key input to defining test strategy and test schedule

  • Apply business and functional knowledge to meet project teams overall test objectives

  • Be an advocate of Quality Assurance, Continuous Improvement and industry recognized Best Practices

  • Build, implement, and direct quality assurance principles and maintain the quality of delivery

  • Define and document the QA strategy, approach, and execution for the project

  • Ensure that the development teams adhere to the principles, guidelines and best practices of the QA test strategy

  • Set processes for test plan reviews and ensure that that test plans get reviewed by all stakeholders and agreed upon

  • Ensure the proper usage of available tools to gain the maximum benefit of the QA effort

  • Monitor all the QA activities, test execution, defect, test metrics, root cause analysis and identifying areas of improvement

  • Work closely with the product owners to define Minimum Viable Product (MVP), document product vision and roadmap

  • Perform project management duties for the planning and requirements elicitation phases of projects to cover testing standards

  • Elicit user requirement information from meetings with various stakeholders and produce user stories

  • Develop graphic representations of complex business processes

  • Complete project related tasks consistent with PMO guidelines


The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years of expertise as a Functional Test Lead on projects of various size and subject matter utilizing Micro Focus ALM (formerly Client Quality Center). Strong experience in defining requirements and project management. The ideal candidate would have the following skillsets as a test lead:

  • Cloud based software solutions

  • Risk Based Test Management

  • Test Automation

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards

This individual must be motivated and interested in working in a fast paced environment. Individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the supply chain process. We are looking for a person who wants to help the Middletown Remanufacturing plant move forward with a very exciting, important cultural change and to help lead us in our focus on lean manufacturing. MISSION AND PURPOSE OF JOB The Middletown Remanufacturing plant is in the midst of a change journey in an effort to continuously improve. This change journey presents a unique opportunity for a strong leader to have a major impact on plant productivity, quality, safety, etc. This position will be a driver of change and help facilitate a culture change within the Middletown plant. Provide leadership at the departmental level with the goal of meeting project and production objectives. Manage Logistics resources in order to achieve deliverable's according to the team's targets. Responsible for safety, quality, delivery, continuous improvement, and the cost of all aspects of the responsible area as well as cascading the Middletown business plan objectives to the department. Roll out and implement lean manufacturing processes and tools within Logistics. Responsible for planning, customer agreements, coordination of delivery of parts and supplies from vendors. Working and understating the site ERP system and system interfaces with customers, carriers and suppliers. Involvement in the planning, creation and documentation of specific project focus areas. The unit leader for Logistics works closely with upper management to ensure that the scope and direction of each milestone is on schedule, as well as with other departments for support as needed KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Represent the Supply Chain organization in daily production status meetings, and elevate necessary information for support or communication * Work cross functionally with production and logistics teams to implement process improvements to prevent part related disturbances to the specified production process * Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Computer interfaces between various systems including customer, carriers and suppliers * Collect and analyze production disturbance/loss data in order to prioritize improvement opportunities * Generate and maintain standardized work instructions for logistics personnel within the production process * Apply and expand general Volvo Production System (VPS) knowledge across logistics and production functions * Work closely with pre-production engineering to support the introduction of new part numbers, or the phase out of obsolete part numbers within the production process * Use organizational skills to maintain data, information, and time plans to effectively communicate improvement progress * Support in the development, and application, of the continuous improvement process within material handling/logistics areas * Identify the Deviation * Protect the Customer with Immediate Countermeasure * Collect Data and Perform Analysis * Perform Root Cause Analysis * Implement Sustaining Actions to Eliminate Re-occurrence * May supervisor unionized workforce * Lead and Implement projects using lean manufacturing concepts * Assist with implementation of new products within the facility * Propose packaging solutions for inbound production parts * Identify opportunities for eliminating waste in supply chain, including, but not limited to packaging, transportation, 3PL, receiving, warehousing, internal logistics, ASN accuracy * Track and communicate key performance indicators within Supply Chain * Actively support overall company programs and policies * Lead the planning process within Logistics * Understand the collective bargaining unit agreements and collaborate with union officials * Champion the culture aimed at giving a strong image of the unit and align with AB Volvo values and principles * Full management responsibility for a team(s) with different skill types in an area of expertise * Leverage relationships to drive delivery with the ability to coach and address minor concerns before consulting others * Lead through a communicative leadership style, with 2 way communication and high employee engagement.
