Must be able to work with foremen, supervisors, and administrative staff to manage the implementation and/or continuance of safe work practices, operations, and overall function of the facility. Work requires professional written and verbal communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Bilingual abilities in Spanish preferred, but not required. Ability to recognize weld defects, areas of improvement, and other weaknesses in all products at Smith Industries LLC. Should be a CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) with NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) Certification and able to do UT (Ultrasonic Testing) testing.
Some, but not all of the primary work duties are as follows:
Assures the quality of all materials, structures, components of all types of products, is maintained throughout the production process.
Verifies that all product lines comply with all relevant quality standards and regulations.
Verifies materials, parts and final products through independent checks and inspections.
Assists in defining a QA/QC program that meets the full scope of all regulatory requirements.
Works with Production Supervisors, Safety Manager, and QC inspectors with various administrative duties, data entry, document preparations, etc. as assigned.
Updates and ensures compliance with material control spreadsheet, provide oversight on compliance and implementation of procedures and policy for all employees. Maintains and documents all Quality Control inspections and findings on travelers and QC Inspection sheets.
