Perform a wide variety of inspection and quality control operations of a visual, dimensional, and functional nature, making necessary critical observations, tests, or competing appropriate documentation as required.


  • Perform inspections on components.

  • Perform source inspections at facilities.

  • Prepare inspection reports and maintain files of inspection documents.

  • Review inspection records received for compliance.

  • Maintain inspection and measuring equipment.

  • Prepare and coordinate Non-Conformance Reports (NCR's) for nonconforming parts.

  • Perform other work related tasks as assigned.

  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.


  • HS Diploma or GED or equivalent
  • 0-2 years related experience and/or training.


  • Physically fit to perform inspection work for extended periods of time that may involve sitting, bending, stooping, standing, and repetitive arm, shoulder, and hand movements.

  • Must demonstrate good work ethics in attendance, dependability, orderliness and teamwork.

  • ASQ certification (inspector) preferred.

  • Must demonstrate good work ethics in attendance, dependability, orderliness and teamwork


  • Good interpersonal and communication skills required


  • Ablilty to read and understand engineering prints preferred

  • Knowledge and ability to use precision measuring instruments preferred

  • Knowledge of computer use (CribMaster, ERP, TCE, Excel, Word) preferred

  • Non-destructive inspection experience preferred

  • Knowledge and ability to use CMM preferred

Verification and acceptance of Material Test Reports and supporting documentation Including creating the P.O. packet for maintaining these records 2. Advisement, coordination, and interaction with all departments and Suppliers to accomplish all objectives for acceptance or rejection of MTR's for Raw Material 3. Perform Hardness Test on Raw material and finished machined parts for comparison against Engineering specifications and purchase order requirements for acceptance 4. Verify and approve MTR's for machined parts and create P.O. packets prior to performing dimensional Inspection 5. To ensure the customer's representing authority is escorted and has access to areas involving work activities, drawings, specifications, procedures, records, test results, and any other documentation necessary to perform reviews 6. The authority to accept, reject, and to place on hold any item or operation where conformance to drawing, specification, contract and/or purchase order is not being accomplished and to render an unbiased decision to accept or reject any material or part 7. The ability to Perform Dimensional Inspection utilizing the CMM to Engineering Drawings or customer requirements and create a full dimensional report without the assistance of the Programmer. 8. Work with QA Administrative Assistant to complete any documentation required by customer, purchase order, or engineering specifications. 9. Must follow and enforce all safety and environmental policies and programs; must be able to use personal safety devices as required by company policy; report any activities that could be detrimental to the safety and/or the loss of productivity; report any injuries when they occur. List the minimum requirements for this position * Minimum five years Dimensional experience preferred with ID/OD Micrometers * High School Diploma or equivalent preferred * Good verbal and written communication skills; must be able to read, write and speak English * Must be able to use Microsoft Office * Good interpersonal working skills * Familiar with ISO, API, ASME standards pertaining to quality * Experienced Level II per SNT-TC-1A in the following Methods MT/PT. ACCP L-II in one or more of the following methods a plus: Magnetic Particle Liquid Penetrant * Minimum 4yrs experience operating CMM, Experience with PCDMIS preferred. * Other duties as assigned and follow work schedule as prescribed by the QC Supervisor National Oilwell Varco Inc Conroe TX
