About This Opportunity

Our context-driven QA Engineer IV will be a key contributor the overall QA strategy and will innovate on processes, practices, and tools. In this player/coach role, you will be a team leader to QA Engineers across several agile teams, with the goal of enabling rapid delivery of high-quality software at a sustainable pace.


  • Assess risks and orchestrate appropriate test coverage to mitigate risks

  • Contribute to Test Automation Framework and add features that allow development teams to write better tests

  • Lead the approach to advanced testing areas such as performance, scalability, and security

  • Perform occasional session-based exploratory testing to understand the system and uncover problems

  • Examine failures and facilitate continuous improvement efforts within and across teams

  • Manage QA team members as needed


  • Experience establishing/teaching patterns, practices, and methods which have improved quality

  • Ability to decompose complex systems and reveal the most important risks quickly

  • Well-versed in defining quality strategies for an agile development environment

  • Experience with relational databases, proficient with SQL

  • Understanding of web technologies (e.g. HTTP, web services, IIS, SOAP, REST, WCF)

  • Programming/scripting ability with experience using multiple languages

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of architecture and technologies you've tested

  • Track record of continuous improvement in yourself and your teams

  • Software community engagement (conferences, meet-ups, and/or open-source projects)

Strong preference to candidates with:

  • Prior management experience

  • Training in Rapid Software Testing methodologies

  • Experience with continuous delivery

  • Strong skills in JavaScript and C#

Responsibilities • Build test automation framework, as well as play a part in maintaining our existing suite of automated tests to be used by the entire Agile squad. • Develops and maintains functional test cases, System & Integration Test cases and test artifacts like test data, test cases and automated scripts used in SDLC • Reviews functional requirements and determines the data requirements for executing the use cases end to end from creating functional manual cases to automating the cases for regression. • Executes manual or automated test cases that validate the functionalities, code quality and reports test results, following all formal test architectures and project processes • Improve system integration efficiency and performance • Ownership and autonomy to work on tasks and be pro-active in managing it end to end. • Diagnose problems and report bugs and enhancements to the Agile squad. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years of working experience in a related field. • Strong experience with OO programming and concepts. • Excellent understanding and knowledge of software quality assurance practice. • Ability to mentor junior members of the of QA Team on best practices and skills. • Hands on experience in Java, C#, JUnit/TestNG, Jenkins, Selenium, FitNesse, SoapUI, Javascript, HTML5, CSS, one or two scripting languages Groovy, Python, Ruby, Git are required • Experience in TDD, continuous integration, and code review practice is strongly desired. • Strong awareness of activities in the open source world and contributing back to open source is a big plus. • Good engagement and collaboration skills and a strong team player. • Pro-active, flexible and creative.
