Transcription Experts has an IMMEDIATE OPENING for a home-based QA Editor/Proofreader with a minimum of 2-3 years' experience proofreading law enforcement, legal and general transcription. The QA Editor/Proofreader will be part of our QA team and will be providing support to our QA Manager. The QA Editor/Proofreader will be proofreading/editing transcripts in a timely manner; meeting client turnaround; provide constructive feedback to each transcriptionist when applicable; review and produce client-ready transcripts when routed through QA Review. This is a part-time (4 hours per day) Monday Friday ONLY position. Hourly rate is $16 per hour.

  • Experience in transcription is a PLUS and can be added to daily workload if interested in full-time hours. ONLY applicants meeting the following qualifications and requirements listed below will be considered.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • You must be a citizen of the United States, residing in the United States

  • Advanced knowledge of the English language, sentence structure, grammar, punctuation and spelling

  • Superior proofing and editing skills required

  • Type a minimum of 45 wpm

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills is a MUST

  • Coaching and development skills

  • Knowledge of law enforcement and legal terminology including interpretation of street language

  • Proficiency in MS Word

  • Attention to detail is a MUST

  • Effective time management skills

  • Effective prioritization skills

  • Work well under pressure in a deadline driven environment

  • Quick-learner Able to use our project management platform and follow our workflow processes

  • Strong sense of confidentiality

  • Transcription experience in law enforcement including body cams, 911 calls, jail calls, etc. is a PLUS!

Minimum Requirements

  • Successfully complete/pass a brief proofreading/editing test

  • Provide 2 professional references

  • Transcription software and foot pedal installed

  • Home office set up with high speed internet

  • Good quality headphones

  • MS Word installed No starter or free trial versions

Computer software and hardware requirements:

  • Windows 7 Home Premium/Pro/Ultimate, Windows 8, or Windows 10.

  • Antivirus program with daily virus definition updates (Except Webroot antivirus)

  • MAC computers are NOT supported

Position Summary You will be a core contributor to the Hum Firmware Team located in Atlanta, GA responsible for designing, developing, testing, and delivering firmware for next generation in-vehicle consumer telematics devices. As a Senior QA Automation Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the quality of Hum firmware deliverables by enhancing automated test frameworks, writing automated tests, maintaining QA related metrics, and upholding/enhancing QA related processes. Responsibilities: * Design and enhance automated test frameworks and test suites for Firmware products * Implement algorithms for testing new product features * Work closely with Product and Developers to review feature requirements to plan for automated testing * Design, document, and execute test procedures * Perform testing of individual bug fixes and features on firmware deliverables * Perform regression testing on firmware deliverables * Analyze test results, perform root cause analysis, and file bug tickets as necessary * Monitor and maintain metrics on tests such as code coverage * Develop automated simulation and test algorithms to detect errors in embedded systems. * Work with real time operating systems and communication protocols such as LTE, WiFi, BTLE, TCP/IP, and GPS * Work with Project Management to provide "Levels of Effort" and form project schedules for QA activities What we're looking for...
