Role: Test Automation SME Contract
Foster City, CA
SQA, Turnkey, Selenium and all other Automation Tools.
Formulate a test automation strategy for various types of testing requirements like product/custom application testing, testing for development/maintenance/migration, scrum/waterfall testing, testing for UI/DB/backend/ERP/APIs/microservices, regression/in-sprint/smoke tests etc. Formulate a test data strategy and having experience in implementing various test data strategies both synthetic and masked source data. Formulate a service virtualization strategy and having experience in implementing the same Have hands-on experience of various automation, test data and virtualization tools and have the knowledge to do a comparative analysis Evaluate and compare multiple tools by quantifiable metrics to satisfy application requirements considering project constraints.
Analyse and understand application landscape and propose automation toolsets based on technology Create test automation strategy and framework to support continuous integration and continuous delivery testing Design efficient test automation frameworks in both commercial tools as well as hybrid/open source tools considering the various process requirements that can be scaled up to support newer test requirements. Design systems integrating multiple tools to work together within committed timelines and milestones. Work with development, release and process teams to design an appropriate automation framework, workflow, integration and requirements Experience in PoC of automation tools/frameworks Train new users in tools/ frameworks and in preparing training modules Experience in turnkey toolsets preferable.

Job Description The Sr. Automation Engineer, Facilities Technical Engineering, provides technical leadership and accountability for all Automation engineering aspects in the delivery of capital projects and engineering services for research and development (R&D) laboratories, clinical manufacturing related facilities, and warehouses at Gilead's Corporate Headquarters in Foster City, CA. Position reports to Principal Automation Engineering. Essential Duties and Job Functions: * Responsible for overseeing and maintaining automation-based systems and solutions which provide for flexible, innovative, cost effective, compliant and quality-focused Research and Development Pharmaceutical environment. The automation systems include but not limited to the following: * Process Control System * Hazardous Monitoring System * OSIsoft PI Historian System * Advanced Data Analytics Application * Implements automation changes to existing control system hardware and software, and supervises modifications done by outside vendors, including development of specifications and testing documentation. This includes system in non-GMP and GMP controlled environment. * Automation Projects and CapEx: Developing, planning and implementing automation based projects and solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including determination and delivery on cost, time and quality to ensure the sustained production, successful product launches and customer satisfaction. * These projects may be new facilities and/or retrofit of existing. * Supports the validation of automation systems with the QA Validation group. * Provides leadership and/or technical support to projects in support of the Capital Plan. * Provides advanced automation technical knowledge for troubleshooting, investigations and training. * Provides advanced automation system hardware support including installation. * Provides advanced automation system design for data integrity, stability and interface between different systems. Ensure effective maintenance and availability of automation equipment. * Optimization and compliance: Responsible for technical optimization of the automation systems. * Provides advanced technical expertise to support Advanced Data Analytics (with focus on Predictive Maintenance) utilizing data collected in Historian. * Supports evaluation and introduction of new technologies, i.e. Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality. * Uses the data analytics to help drive data based decisions with operations and maintenance groups to help optimize operations. * Supports creation, modification, and maintenance of automation system and documentation, including automation specification documents and SOPs, in a compliant state. * Supports Global Automation Community of Practice (CoP) and implementation of best practice of automation technical standards and procedures. * Participates in peer reviews. Knowledge, Experience and Skills: * Demonstrated ability to effectively work in cross functional teams, meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple projects. * Experience working in a self-driven, performance/results oriented, fast paced matrix environment. * Demonstrated ability to perform/document complex manufacturing processes and provide technical support in a Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) environment. * Excellent problem solving skills, including issue resolution, root cause investigations, and CAPA in CGMP environment. * Extensive experience with ISA-88 batch process control. * The following are the required technical experiences: * Rockwell FactoryTalk View Site Edition SCADA. * Allen-Bradley PLC/HMI hardware (including ControlLogix, CompactLogix, MicroLogix, SLC, PanelView Plus). * OSIsoft PI Historian. * ESX Virtual Machines. * The following are the preferred technical experiences: * Win-911 Remote Alarming Application. * Ocean Data Systems – Dream Report Application. * Siemens SIMATIC PLC/HMI hardware and software. * Emerson DeltaV DCS. * Python, .NET or SQL Programming. * Siemens Apogee BMS experience. * Prior experiences with control systems supplied with skid equipment (including skid equipment for Small Molecule or Large Molecule (Biologics) APIs, Formulation, Packaging, clean utilities) are strongly preferred. * Able to travel domestically and internationally up to 15% of the time. * BS or MS in Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university and 10+ years relevant engineering experience in pharmaceutical environment including regulatory requirements associated with 21 CFR Part 11. #LI-JM4 For jobs in the United States: As an equal opportunity employer, Gilead Sciences Inc. is committed to a diverse workforce.
