QA Automation Engineer Summary The primary responsibility of a QA Automation Engineer is to ensure the platform and baseline solution perform in accordance with specified scope and design. The QA Automation Engineer will design, develop, maintain, and operate our test automation framework and test cases.

The QA Automation Engineer will be a member of our engineering team, and will work closely with other software engineers, software testers, DBAs, business analysts, and product managers. Roles Responsibilities ? Design, develop, maintain, and operate our test automation framework ? Collaborate with developers, reviewing plans and designs to ensure testability ? Review new feature development to ensure high standards of quality and testability, performing exploratory testing and building new automated test cases. ? Automate existing manual test cases ? Train other engineers and testers to use the test automation framework and create new test cases. ? Provide detailed feedback to software engineers on detected issues and work with them toward satisfactory and timely issue resolution. ? Develop and execute a plan for automated load testing ? Work in an agile/scrum environment, meeting sprint commitments and contributing to the agile process ? Research QA best practices and provide process improvement suggestions Metrics Accountability ? QA Automation Engineer are measured on the success they achieve in: o On-time fulfillment of tasks to meet project commitments o Creating and maintaining a robust, user-friendly test automation framework o Quantity and quality of automated test cases written against the software platform o Reducing defects reported by clients by catching them during automated testing o Driving improved software quality through improved processes, collaboration, and education Education, Work Experience and Skills Education and Work Experience ? Completed bachelor's degree in software related discipline ? At least two (2) years of experience in software test automation Specialized Knowledge, Abilities and Skills ? Strong personal planning and organizational skills ? Process and detail-oriented ? Proficient communication (written and oral) skills ? Expertise in multiple automated testing tools for UI and API testing ? Strong understanding of programming languages and web technologies such as: Ruby, Javascript, HTML, CSS
