QA Analyst

About the Role

Total Wine & More is looking for a QA Engineer to support the Marketing and Personalization platforms as part of our Marketing Systems team in Bethesda, MD. We are passionate about developing and delivering technical business solutions in an entrepreneurial environment, while contributing to the growth and direction of the company in a meaningful way. In this role, you will be able to leverage your expertise in Agile/Scrum development environments and testing abilities that directly impacts customer experiences. You will use manual and automation testing experience with mobile applications, evaluate test cases for inclusion in regression and automation, and develop tools to optimize test duration and quality. You will report to the Senior Product Manager, Marketing Systems.

You will

• Collaborate with product managers, backend engineers, test automation engineers, UX designers, and scrum masters to continuously improve functionality enhancing our customer experience.

• Participate in roadmap and planning sessions, backlog refinement, product demos, and other agile ceremonies, to develop a strong understanding of Promotions, Loyalty and Personalization platforms from both an architecture and a functional perspective.

• Develop modular frontend web and mobile applications.

• Develop and update the shared component libraries that enable our teams to iterate quickly.

• Write performant, maintainable, and testable code.

• Mentor and coach mid-level and junior-level developers.

• Using a mobile-first mentality, translate functional requirements into responsive components and pages.

• Champion accessibility best practices.

• Monitor, troubleshoot, identify, and resolve production issues.

• Willingness and agility to learn new technologies and adapt to and drive change.

• Embody a strong sense of ownership when working in complex cross-team/cross-platform initiatives.

• Provide solutions to overcome challenges and avoid risks with minimal oversight/guidance.

• Have fun in a close knit 'team is family' type of environment.

You will come with

• 4-5+ years as an experienced developer working with established production environments.

• 4+ years of experience of React or React Native, especially function components capitalizing on hooks.

• 4+ years of production software development using Javascript ES6, HTML 5, CSS 3.

• 1+ years of experience with statically typed language (Go, C, C++, Rust, etc).

• Familiarity with serverside rendering (SSR), asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and RESTful APIs.

• Experience with manual and automation testing for mobile application using various testing methodologies and tools.

• Experience evaluating additional test cases for inclusion in regression and automation and developing tools to optimize test duration and quality.

• Solid coding practices including regular code reviews, documentation, and version control.

• Passion for keeping up to speed with the latest software tools and methodologies.

• Intellectual curiosity and strong problem-solving skills that bring discipline and analytical thinking to user stories, requirements, and user flows.

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

• Preference for agile development and familiarity with its tools like Jira.
