The Quality Assurance Analyst, Modria tests and quality assures programs, application modules and products of increasing complexity created by the Modria development department using systematic quality assurance techniques (automated and manual). The QA Analyst provides support for various modules to customers, peers and management with diagnostic troubleshooting assistance and strives to further organizational and company goals.


Plano, Texas


  • Test and validate program modules of increasing complexity to meet specifications and procedures standards.

  • Conduct thorough and accurate testing of client/server and web-based applications.

  • Document software defects in the issue-tracking system and proactively communicate with software developers.

  • Validate all written documentation for assignments for accuracy and completion.

  • Validate software releases of basic complexity prior to distribution.

  • Execute on automated test scripts and evaluate.

  • Create and maintain test plans and test cases of typically basic complexity for all testing assignments.

  • Adhere to and assist in the development of standards and procedures.

  • Assist with reviewing and editing test case scripts and writing queries.

  • Assist with documenting and executing black box, exploratory/heuristic, end-to-end, and any other testing approaches necessary to ensure effective product test coverage.

  • Assist in the identification of new procedures, methods and/or tools to improve the efficiency of the QA process.

  • Assist in the design and requirements for new products.

  • Provide analysis and consulting support for development and support employees.

  • Occasional travel may occur.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Sciences, Management Information Science, or Business. Equivalent work experience may substitute for degree requirement.

  • 2+ years of QA experience required.

  • Professional work experience with the following technologies:

  • Required:

  • Automated Testing

  • Selenium

  • Manual Testing

  • Ability to write manual test cases based on acceptance criteria from user stories

  • Strongly Preferred:

  • Apache JMeter

  • Junit

  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills involving sound decision making and effective resolutions.

  • Solid understanding of QA testing methodologies and practices preferred.

  • Basic understanding of coding and/or scripting is preferred (in order to troubleshoot simple script errors).

  • Firm knowledge and experience with relational databases including solid knowledge and understanding of SQL and query writing.

  • Ability to maintain a test environment effectively with regards to products, tools, data and related aspects.

  • Full software development lifecycle familiarity is strongly preferred.

  • Keen attention to detail.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills involving the ability to manage multiple work streams effectively.

  • Strong time management skills with proven track record of delivering successful results.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills involving the ability to communicate verbally and in writing technical and non-technical information.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate in a team.

  • Ability to be effective in a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be able to travel occasionally.

As a Quality Analyst for Chase Merchant Services, you will primarily be responsible for performing detailed quality and control monitoring on a daily, weekly, and/or monthly basis. You will prepare a written summary for each function monitored and provide written coaching/feedback to the Business Management team. You will work closely with the Quality Manager, Operational Credit Risk, Control, Compliance, Business Management, and the Training teams to perform gap and root-cause analysis on issues discovered during the monitoring process as well as proactively identifying necessary procedure updates and training opportunities. Primary responsibilities include ensuring all Global Platform quality reviews are completed and delivered timely, ensuring all quality issues are communicated to Management, identifying account remediation requirements and participating in projects for the department as needed. Additional responsibilities include being the Delivery Manager for Third Party Vendor(s) within Chase Merchant Service as described below: * Work with Credit Ops management to provide accurate business requirements that define the scope of the engagement to make certain the need of the firm are met. * Making sure due diligence is appropriately conducted in order to protect the firm and our clients * Working with the key stakeholders to ensure appropriate assessments are completed for any supplier under considerations * Helping to decided which supplier is the best choice for the engagement * Working with Category Sourcing, Legal, Line of Business TPMO and other key stake holders to develop appropriate contract terms that promote performance and lessen risk once a Supplier is chosen. * Providing subject matter expertise regarding the product and service supplied * Establishing requirement for the supplier- during engagement design and as part of the ongoing monitoring * Managing the overall performance of the Supplier's delivery of products and services, measuring performance against JPM requirements, as stated in the contract, and escalating issues when necessary SLA's, in process, and in JPM requirements * Validating Invoices and ensuring payments * Communicating changes, such as start/end dates, SLAs, process, and JPM requirements * Conducting Periodic Performance Reviews * Ensuring timely and successful resolution of any risk remediation action plans identified by the assessments completed for the specific engagement High Security Access Hires: This position is anticipated to require the use of one or more High Security Access (HSA) systems.
