The Quality Assurance Specialist role is in the Solution Delivery pillar. The main function of this pillar is to develop and test solutions created to support the Americas Tax Practice.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Responsible for quality assurance testing of solutions as established by Quality Assurance Lead

  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to team members, colleagues and/or customers

  • Assist in the development of quality assurance and testing policies, standards and procedures, processes, and best practices

  • Contribute to program/project review meetings. Support Quality Assurance Management in determining status, assessing problem areas, suggesting and reviewing corrective actions, directing/planning necessary extra work, and rework and re-plan activities

  • Support the onboarding of new team members

  • Work with project stakeholders to determine the appropriate quality initiatives to implement during system development life cycles

  • Work within quality assurance frameworks to ensure stability, efficiency and scalability

  • Support Quality Assurance Lead in upward stakeholder management and day-to-day management of the Quality Assurance team

  • Make recommendations to the Quality Assurance Lead on the improvement of Quality Assurance processes and practices and where appropriate help to establish these and implement where agreed

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with other IT services, IT solution functions and customers to expedite delivery of IT solutions

  • Conduct tests and undertake analysis of results to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and/or client and technical requirements

  • Provide feedback and suggestions to improve the application of basic principles and practices related to Software Development Process Improvement

  • Coordinates and manages planning of the system and/or acceptance tests within a development or integration project

  • Take responsibility for integrity of testing and acceptance activities and coordinates the execution of these activities

  • Provide authoritative advice and guidance on any aspect of test planning and execution

  • Define and communicate test strategy for specific projects

  • Manages all test processes, including test plans, resources, costs, timescales, test deliverables, and traceability

  • Identifies process improvements, and contributes to corporate testing standards and definition of best practices

  • Investigate and document the internal control of specified aspects of automated or partly automated processes, and assesses compliance with the relevant standards

  • Controls, updates and distributes new and revised quality standards, including technical changes

Analytical/Decision Making

  • Proactive approach to identifying issues and presenting solutions and options, and where appropriate, leading to resolution

  • Ability to clearly articulate both problems and proposed solutions

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

  • Ability to work across multiple projects

  • Ability to determine strategic direction and not just tactical

  • Excellent knowledge of the software packages UFT, Quick Test Professional and Application Lifecycle Management

  • Knowledge of TFS, VSTS

  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle including the functional and non-functional test phases

  • Knowledge of Quality Management techniques

  • Intermediate understanding of the customer services and business processes

  • Demonstrates a basic understanding of key principles related to Software Development Process Improvement

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Knowledge of quality assurance testing, tooling and associated programming language

  • Programing experience in VB/VBA/VBScript or C#, .NET platform

  • Good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills

  • Motivated by delivery

  • The ability to work and team effectively with clients and other management personnel across geographies

  • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change

  • Ability to deal efficiently with escalations and difficult situations under pressure

  • Demonstrates the ability to research, formulate relevant questions and seek advice about specific concepts and practices to deepen learning and application skills related to Quality Management

  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of specific technical specialisms, and provide expert advice regarding their application

  • Knowledge of Agile and automation processes

  • Works with limited direction and oversight

  • Provide supervision and direction to team members and staff

  • Occasional overnight travel may be required

The position is responsible for conducting tests of internally developed and externally integrated software applications. The candidate will participate in projects and work closely with the other employees to perform the QA function to ensure that the project conforms to the requirements set forth in the project specification documents. The candidate will be required to review functional requirements to assess their impact on the software applications and formulate test cases. The candidate will create written test plans and execute test cases. Other tasks will include reporting defects and assisting developers and other technicians to troubleshoot problems. This is a full-time position in Nashville, TN and is not available for sponsorship. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities * Minimum of 3 years related work experience with knowledge of SDLC with demonstrated QA skills * Bachelor's Degree in the field of business administration, computer science, management information systems similar industry or equivalent additional experience required * Advanced knowledge and experience in test design, development, and execution of test cases, in support of software and hardware solutions is preferred * Understanding of database, hardware, software, and QA standards * Excellent written and verbal communication skills required * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills * Excellent listening and interpersonal skills * Logical and efficient with keen attention to detail * Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required * Highly self-motivated and directed * Strong customer service orientation * Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment * Exposure to automated test tool is preferred but not required * Experience using Seapine, TFS or similar testing tools/suites preferred Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Test projects assigned, including participates in SDLC activities, such as backlog grooming sessions, design and prototype review sessions, develops test plans and test cases, prepares and maintains test data, executes tests, reports and tracks defects, assists developers in defects resolution, compiles test results for reporting.
