Under limited supervision, the purpose of this position is to understand, evaluate and test new or modified software programs, including documentation, diagram, and data flow charts, to verify that programs meet specified functions according to formal requirements and conform to organizational standards. The QA Analyst II is an intermediate level position that will be responsible for participating in multiple projects at a time. The QA Analyst II is expected to handle many unusual problems, but some which may require exceptions to procedures or processes are referred to the supervisor for guidance.
Essential Job Functions:
Researches software systems in order to understand existing functionalities and impacts of potential changes
Learn technical tools used in testing
Reviews and obtains a detailed understanding of the project scope, requirements, and design in order to utilize the appropriate test method to test against them
Develops test cases that tests application changes and impacts based on functional requirements and design documents
Executes test cases and logs results including defects
Collaborates with the project team on reviews, reports, and communicating status updates
4-year undergraduate degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2-3 years of experience, preferably in the insurance industry, including 1-2 years of directly related experience or in the capacity of a QA Analyst I; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
