3+ years of software development experience
Detailed working knowledge of Python language and related frameworks like Django
Be aware of the most commonly used libraries essential for development
Experience in REST, JSON, XML and other web services technologies
Interfacing with SQL and NoSQL databases like MySQL, Cassandra and MongoDB
Familiarity with containerized deployment via Docker or Kubernetes
Experience using AWS compute, storage and database: EC2, Elastic Beanstalk, S3, Aurora, Redshift or DynamoDB
Programming & Debugging Best Practices
Unit testing and writing testable code
Git or similar source code management systems
Nice to Have
AWS Lambda, X-Ray and other advanced cloud-native modules
Have knowledge of contactless payments, digital wallets, payments industry background
Banking & Financial Services experience a strong nice to have

In the past two years our client has grown their product footprint and revenue from over $500 million to $1.0 billion through acquisition and organic growth. </p><p><strong>Role Summary</strong></p><p>The VP Deputy General Counsel will report to the Chief Administrative Officer General Counsel &amp; Corporate Secretary. This is a newly created role in the company to meet the demands of the explosive growth and to prepare to get the company to 2 billion in revenue. You will have responsible for drafting and submitting SEC filings, including 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 8-Ks, proxy statements, S-8s and Section 16 filings. Providing substantive legal counsel to senior management on issues related to corporate securities offerings, insider trading policies, public company governance, and public securities regulatory filings. Assists in preparing corporate governance matters, including the preparation of Board and Committee materials, policies, and charters. Collaborates with our Finance and Marketing teams on external communications such as earnings releases and press releases. Anticipates and identify changes in relevant laws and regulations and develop and implement recommended actions. You will manage a small team of: 1 attorney and 2 paralegals, with the possibility of a growing team in the future; all located in the San Jose, California offices.</p><p><strong>Essential Job Functions</strong></p><ul><li>Develop and provide leadership for a high performing Legal team that fosters candor, transparency, curiosity, ownership, and teamwork.</li><li>Serve as a key and active member of the leadership team.</li><li>Securities compliance and corporate governance, including 33 and 34 Act filing and capital markets offerings </li><li>Interfacing with and addressing the various legal needs of the senior management team and the Board of Directors</li><li>Supporting all mergers and acquisitions</li><li>Advising on stock option plan/equity compensation issues, </li><li>Providing advice and counsel to the HR function, </li><li>Subsidiary management, </li><li>Managing outside counsel and utilizing cost saving where possible.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications and Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>JD from nationally recognized law school and member of the California State Bar.</li><li>10+ years in leadership roles in-house experience a must. In-house experience required, preferably at a Silicon Valley technology company;</li><li>12-18+ years of relevant corporate experience, with a focus on public company securities compliance and corporate governance.</li><li>Extensive experience with 33 and 34 Act reporting, securities compliance, capital markets offerings, and all other public company corporate governance maintenance and reporting requirement</li><li>Experience in strategic planning and collaboration with executives, and key operational groups.</li><li>Experience with merger and acquisitions.</li><li>Excellent business judgment and strategic thinking.</li><li>High level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness with strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.</li><li>Excellent communications and presentation skills must have executive presence.</li><li>Effective influencer with the ability to develop and manage a high-performance team focused on accountability and meeting and exceeding expectations</li><li>Strategic, critical but creative thinker, strong business sense </li><li>Ability to lead, create, and work within cross-functional team environments</li><li>Job location can be: San Jose, CA, occasionally travel to other office locations</li></ul><p><strong>Leadership Skills</strong></p><ul><li>Puts the Customer First: Has a relentless focus on the customer.
