Job Title: Purchasing/Packaging Supervisor

Location: Omaha Plant

Reporting to: Purchasing Superintendent

Essential Job Functions:

• Gather purchasing data through statistical reporting. Prepare daily, weekly and quarterly statistical reports on purchasing and product use

• Ensure stock level for parts is adequate using MRP system in SAP in order to maintain all equipment in good working condition

• Maintain all pertinent records for production projections and scheduling for future reference

• Perform quarterly physical counts of all supplies and parts ensuring accuracy of inventory records in SAP

• Create confirmations to include correct pricing and delivery date with vendors

• Maintain open PO report and follow up with vendors

• Create items and locations in SAP for new stock items

• Interact with Shipping and Operations to assist in maximizing order fill rate

• Responsible for ordering of supplies & parts

• Update Kronos for attendance daily and send daily attendance to Human Resources

• Manage/oversee and direct activities of purchasing clerks

• Help maintain stock levels for packaging materials, work closely with production floors, doing audits of standards and ensuring orders are placed and delivered timely.

Skills/Experience Required:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent, preferred but not required

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, Outlook

• Supervisory experience in a similar role within a manufacturing setting

• Experience using ERP system

Skills/Experience Preferred:

• Some College courses taken in General Business or similar

• SAP experience

• Strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills

• Knowledge of various maintenance equipment

• Knowledge and Understanding of the criticality of packaging materials.

• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, verbally & in writing, with suppliers, coworkers, production employees and managers

• Strong managerial and interpersonal skills

• Ability to use good judgment in considering relative costs of goods

• Must be able to work flexible hours including some weekends
