We are looking for a Purchasing Operator. This position will be based at Johnston City, TN.

Position Overview:

Processes purchase order requests for products/services to internal/external suppliers in support of customer orders. Responds to purchase order maintenance, tracking and invoicing requests from customer service/finance/accounting organizations via phone, chat, or email, regarding Siemens Industrial products and/or services. Serves customers by providing order tracking information while providing efficient and courteous service. Completes customer requested investigations, expedites/reschedules of purchase orders and resolves customer facing problems. Performs advance shipment notifications, order tracking, freight billing, and maintenance of missing supply chain information needed for order tracking transparency, sales revenue, and customer invoicing. Possesses effective analytical problem-solving skillset to enable quick investigation and resolution of customer issues.

[Role Description]

• Executes advance shipment notifications for third-party vendor purchase orders and Siemens affiliates purchase orders for deliveries shipped directly from vendor to the end customer with customer delivery relevant information. Data includes- tracking number, carrier route, and freight billing to ensure accuracy for customer invoicing and order tracking transparency.

• Investigate carrier websites, internal tools (OMS,SAP, PEGA, NextGen) to maintain/manage delivery relevant information to customer inquiries and open purchase orders, maintain financial supply chain invoice information to accounting inquiries and enable timely customer invoices and financial revenue recognition.

• Responsible for purchasing related data regarding vendor pricing maintenance, master data regarding sourcing information and creation of new suppliers for sourcing.

• Manage/analyze overdue purchase orders and execute goods receipts/invoicing timely thru various exception reports for supply chain activities. Maintaining timely po delivery date information resulting in accurate inventory availability for customers in customer facing tools.

• Manage communication to Customer Service inquiries thru Salesforce (Customer Relationship Management Tool).

• Perform ad-hoc requests for miscellaneous requests regarding supply chain delivery information requests.

Basic Qualifications:

• HS Diploma, or GED

• Specialized skill training for supply chain may be required.

• 4-8+ years of practical Customer Support/Supply Chain experience

• Demonstrated ability to address customer inquiries/escalations and vendor information management.

• Demonstrated logical reasoning, situational and time management while presenting a positive attitude with customers and co-workers.

• High Level of professionalism and excellent customer service skills.

• Ability to multitask and handle a high volume of work accurately.

• Excellent verbal, written, and organization skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate degree in related discipline is preferred.

• Knowledge of SAP, OMS, CRM systems and Supply Chain tools.

• 4-8+ years of practical Customer Support/Supply Chain experience supporting industrial, construction, mechanical, and/ or electrical industries.

• Effective verbal communication when speaking direct to customers/vendors.

• Effective written communication skills set and analytical problem-solving skillset.

• Ability to analyze spreadsheets and troubleshoot customer issues.

• Ability to work within a team office environment.

• Must be a self-starter and work independently of immediate supervision.

• Ability and desire to learn assigned business segment product line.

• Ability to successfully complete required training in a timely manner

• Strong data analytical and problem-solving skills in identifying patterns and trends.

• Proficient with Microsoft Suites software.

• Will need to take internal product and/or other training classes.

• The pay range for this position is <$60,900 low - $82,100 high>. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
