Job Description Job Description Purchasing Manager - Full Time Exempt POSITION SUMMARY The Purchasing Manager oversees the procurement of educational materials, supplies, and resources that are essential for RCA's daily operations. This individual balances cost efficiency with high-quality standards to ensure that both students and staff have the necessary resources to succeed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with RCA's needs and budget constraints. Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers, including uniform and RCA store vendors, ensuring the timely delivery of quality goods and services. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and maximize value.
Monitor inventory levels of educational materials and supplies, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing waste. Track and manage purchasing budgets, providing regular reports on spending and cost-saving initiatives. Ensure all purchased goods and services meet RCA's quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchases, contracts, and supplier performance. Work closely with administrative staff, teachers, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure their requirements are met. Stay informed about market trends, new products, and emerging suppliers to ensure that RCA benefits from the latest educational resources and technologies.
Support and uphold the Catholic mission and values of the academy in all purchasing decisions and interactions. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES) Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within an educational or non-profit setting.
Strong negotiation and communication skills. Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of homeschooling and hybrid education models is a plus.
