Compensation: $100,000-$120,000 per year. You are eligible to a Short-Term Incentive Plan with the target at 7.5% of your annual earnings, terms and conditions apply.

Purchasing Manager- Hybrid, Aliso Viejo, CA

Hybrid Schedule: 3 days on site, 2 days remote

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for the overall purchasing activities of the Company. The scope includes tactically generating purchase orders, negotiating favorable pricing including leveraging larger / longer time horizons, strategic sourcing and ensuring appropriate safety stock targets and Kanban utilization.

A key focus will be transitioning the Company into an SAP environment which requires strong understanding and experience of the Purchasing modules from SAP.

The Manager will drive performance improvements across the supply base as well as be seen as the Champion for internal process improvements within the Company.

Essential Functions

• Use Microsoft Office applications and other software tools to generate and track purchases. Strong use of pivot tables and vlookop.

• Review item usage, inventory reports, and purchase requests in order to assess the need for future orders

• Update quotations and drive cost reduction initiatives.

• Review and improve Purchasing related data in order to ensure accuracy and to maintain overall quality control within the Purchasing department

• Communicate with supplier verbally and through email / website to elicit pricing quotes and to place orders

• Migrate the business into an SAP environment

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• College graduate with a concentration in supply chain, business administration, finance or accounting preferred or equivalent professional experience

• 5 years+ purchasing experience.

• SAP experience required. SAP experience / use.

• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel (ability to use formulas, link worksheets, Vlookup, pivot tables)

• Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail

• Negotiation experience / prowess

Preferred

• Experience working in life sciences / biotechnology / pharmaceutical industries. Laboratory environment a plus

• Previous experience migrating into an SAP environment would be preferred.
