Foundation Building Materials (FBM), is currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Purchasing Manager that will be based out of our Dallas, TX location. The Purchasing Manager will work to ensure the cost-effective purchase and confirmed availability of materials, supplies, equipment and services utilized by the company. Must be a self-starter and team player that is willing to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions/Qualifications:

  • Maintains industry-leading customer service standards while meeting inventory return goals by coordinating the ordering of materials on a timely basis

  • Works with the Regional Purchasing Manager to ensure customer satisfaction and excellent inventory control

  • Adheres to the purchasing policies, processes, and procedures of FBM

  • Responsible for entering and administering purchase orders with accurate material descriptions, cost coding, pricing, and other appropriate data

  • Manages inventory through purchasing and quality control functions

  • Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability

  • Stays current and communicates on market conditions, industry trends and new product information

  • Works closely with the warehouse to make sure products have arrived in good condition

  • Tracks delinquent arrivals from purchase orders

  • Assist sales personnel when needed

  • Maintain operating knowledge of software system

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Self-motivated/goal oriented

  • Ability to handle a highly deadline-driven environment

  • Ability to effectively multi-task

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Basic knowledge of construction materials preferred

  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office products

  • Other duties may be assigned
