Francis Marion University invites applications for Purchasing Manager. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and professionally, while interacting with faculty, staff, students, members of the vendor community, and the public.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
With guidance from Director of Purchasing and Assistant Director of Purchasing, manage all aspects of the university Procurement Card program including training for new and existing stakeholders.
Verify appropriate approvals on requisitions and requests for payment to finalize departmental actions.
Process all items with urgency regarding departmental needs, and administrative processing schedules in other departments.
Set up vendors/individuals in system for prompt payment. Appropriate contact with vendors and individuals is necessary to attain appropriate materials for this work.
Initiate requests for payment and requisitions for goods and services.
Manage and maintain all filing processes in the department to meet requirements of South Carolina Procurement rules and regulations and meet all guidelines of the university's procurement policy.
Manage general Purchasing Department incoming calls as lead contact for the department.
Receive telephone calls to answer questions/requests. Transfer calls within or outside of the office.
Open and Distribute mail.
Deliver paperwork and or other materials within Stokes Administration Building and to other campus locations.
Identify incoming paperwork for action, or for distribution within the department.
Fax, scan, and transmit all paperwork as necessary.
Special sourcing projects as necessary.
Daily utilization of Ellucian Colleague system (Production, and Web-Advisor).
Utilize MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Supervisor: Reports to the Assistant Director of Purchasing
State Requirements: A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for work experience.
FMU Preferred Qualifications: An associate degree and one year of related experience.
State Classification: Procurement Specialist 1 AC10
Band/Level: 5/1
