We are currently seeking a Purchasing & Inventory Control Analyst to join our production facility located in Starkville, MS. We are looking for self-motivated, disciplined individual to be responsible for purchasing materials and consumables and other miscellaneous items, vendor contact, order entry, expediting and sourcing.

In this role, you will report to the Supply Chain Manager located in Pine Brook, NJ and a dotted line to the Site Manager in Starkville. You will assist the Supply Chain Manager in the development and overall coordination of the master production plan for the facility. You will also be responsible to perform the following:

Purchasing & Inventory Control

Ensures that inventory levels are maintained for efficient substrate production.
Responsible for properly identifying, labeling and storing items in the appropriate locations.
Performs routine weekly physical inventory counts.
Maintains the in-house inventory control system (Pointman). All items are entered into system and inventory logged into system matches the physical inventory.
Facilitates wide purchasing initiatives, and cost reduction programs, researches alternative sources of supply and identifies second sources for critical raw materials and consumables.
Negotiates favorable purchasing agreements for consumables and services.
Works as the purchasing liaison between NJ and MS facilities.
Develops purchasing reports for vendor analysis, purchase volumes and on-time delivery.
Responsible for receiving and shipping all packages and inspects all incoming materials for correct quantity and damage.
Notifies requisitioner immediately upon receipt of priority shipments, and delivers packages within 24 hours of receipt.


4 years minimum of progressive experience in planning, inventory control, purchasing shipping or materials management function.
BS/BA degree or Information Systems or the equivalent experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience with problem analysis and resolution.
SAP experience preferred.
Must be able to aggressively negotiate contracts.
Ability to recommend and implement improvements, and handle diverse, detailed tasks.
Capable of working with minimum supervision.
Experience with networked PC based computer systems (MS Office, Excel, Email, ERP/MRP)
