In the Purchasing Expediter position you will under direct supervision, supports routine planning and procurement of various commodities using an MRP system. Assists in expediting and confirming open purchase orders in support of production schedules and capital/MRO materials and services. Responsible for ensuring data integrity within the MRP system.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)

  • Verify status of open orders with suppliers

  • Obtain supplier confirmation of purchase orders and delivery dates

  • Contact suppliers on a regular basis to expedite deliveries of open orders including escalation to management at supplier

  • Verify and track status of incoming shipments through communication with suppliers, third party logistics and KeytronicEMS logistics team

  • Communicate areas of concern to appropriate buyer

  • Audit and maintain data integrity in the MRP system for the department as defined by the company and/or department guidelines

  • Compile data and assist in the preparation of reports as requested by Purchasing supervisors

  • Participate in department process improvement and training teams

  • Assist cross functional teams as assigned

OTHER FUNCTIONS

  • Perform other support duties as needed

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school or equivalent educational experience required

  • At least one year working in a professional business setting

  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments simultaneously in a timely manner in a fast-paced environment

  • Sound written and oral communication skills; must be able to read and understand routine reports, follow oral and written instructions, and speak effectively

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to relate to and work with diverse groups of people

  • Must have experience in use and operation of standard office equipment and be familiar with commonly used email, Internet, word processing, databases and spreadsheets

  • Must have a high level of skill to handle sensitive and confidential situations and materials. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate Degree or higher in supply chain management, operations, or related field

  • One to three years of experience working in purchasing, customer service, or marketing role dealing with suppliers and/or customers

  • Experience in contract manufacturing and EMS industry desired with an emphasis in supporting an offshore manufacturing facility

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, talk, hear, and see. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or reach with hands and arms. The environment is fast-paced; time pressured, and requires accuracy. The employee will regularly multi-task between projects, be required to move throughout the office building, and effectively communicate. The normal environment is quiet and typical of an open cubical setting with some areas that may be louder at times.

You will act as liaison between clients, retain and catering operations teams, and other internal departments, with the ultimate goal to grow catering revenue within your geographic territory.
