We are currently hiring a full time, year round Purchasing Clerk to begin ASAP. Typical schedule varies, start time are typically from 7:30 to 8:30, 40 hours per week.

Primary Purpose of Position

To provide assistance and support to the purchasing department and other departments as needed of the Sonnenalp Hotel. Receive, check in all products and verify the quality, date, and rotate new products, fill and deliver requisitions, and maintain cleanliness of all storeroom areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Verify that products on invoice are delivered and make adjustments to invoice accordingly.

  • Verify quality of products and make adjustments to invoice accordingly.

  • Open cases, occasionally taste to check freshness.

  • Notify manager of any problems with deliveries.

  • Label, date, and write vendor name on the case (face all labels outward on shelf).

  • Rotate all products (new to bottom or back).

  • Ensure products are never placed on floors, but rather stored properly on shelves.

  • When checking packages delivered via special transport (i.e. RAC, DAC) verify all packages are delivered before signing packing slip (record all packages on the receiving/delivery log).

  • When filing delivery requisitions, go by requested schedule, and obtain approval from manager prior to making any variation.

  • Notify manager of any back orders or any special delivery requests.

  • Ensure all requisitions are filled with name of house, name of outlet, signature, date, and time to be delivered.

  • Provide product only to individuals with requisitions.

  • Clean up all purchasing areas at completion of shift, to include: dusting, sweeping, and mopping.


  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University preferred

  • 1 year experience in a purchasing/ receiving department preferred

  • Food & Beverage experience helpful

Special Skills/Equipment

  • Basic math skills; Ability to add, subtract, and use spreadsheets accurately

  • Experience with POS preferred

  • High level of attention to detail

  • Strong focus on safety

  • Must be able to compute pounds to ounces on a consistent basis

Essential Physical Requirements

  • Very physically demanding position, requiring a high level of physical fitness

  • Ability to pull, carry, or lift heavy objects (up to 75 lbs) frequently

  • Ability to walk and/or stand for duration of shift

  • Frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, stretching, and pulling
