Job Description

$250 SIGN ON BONUS! The Storeroom Clerk maintains daily role/function of the food, beverage, and general storerooms.


  • Responsible for proper receiving, storing and issuing of all food and beverage products in the food, beverage and general storerooms under the guidance of the storeroom manager.

  • Inspect and unpack all merchandise received, and stocks/stores it.

  • Assists storeroom manager in keeping the storeroom properly organized by sorting by group as stated by the storeroom manager.

  • Assists in pricing and dating with a "pricing gun" all groceries and canned goods; also being aware of the importance of the first in/first out (F.I.F.O.) rotation.

  • Strictly adheres to the operating hours of the storerooms.

  • Assist storeroom manager in filling General Storeroom requisitions.

  • Assist in end-of-month inventories.

  • Assists storeroom manager in the inspection of the refrigeration units and brings to his attention any deviation from the set temperatures as well as any deterioration of the quality of the perishables (record temperature on a daily log).

  • Responsible for the cleaning of all storerooms.

  • To follow/adhere to Omni Hotels operating procedures and local health regulations.

  • Start a list for out of stocks/goods not received "items" so that follow-up can be made.

  • Verify that no requisitions are left open (all requisitions should be completed and closed out).

  • Check and lock all coolers/storeroom doors before departure at end-of-day.


  • Must be flexible and able to work am and pm shifts, weekends and holidays.

  • Must be able to handle repeated lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying 25-30 pounds.

  • Must be able to operate a hand truck and pallet jack.

  • Should have basic computer operation understanding.

Primary responsibilities include sourcing products, placing orders for food and beverage, supplies, equipment and uniforms. Conduct inventory china, glass and silver. Processing invoices and transfers. Other responsibilities include compiling a weekly market report, assisting with inventory, assisting with bids file maintenance, creating inventory reports, and tracking vehicle maintenance. The Purchasing Analyst II is also responsible for responsible for helping on daily receiving and distributing items throughout all outlets on the estate. Essential Job Duties: 1. Research food product and analyze cost 2. Order food, supplies, equipment, and uniforms 3. Conduct quarterly inventory of restaurant china, glass and silver 4. Code invoices and enter into Eatec database 5. Track deliveries and maintain files for transfers from the Biltmore Agriculture department 6. Process transfer sheets from outlets into Eatec database 7. Maintain invoice files 8. Match invoices to purchase orders at the time of delivery 9. Insure the correct goods are received and inspect each item for quality and proper and proper weight/size/count 10. Retrieve and deliver product on and off property 11. Key food inventory reports on Eatec 12. Set up and organize work station; report shortages; receive and process deliverables 13. Provide Support on Eatec maintenance Requirements/Qualifications: 1.High school diploma or GED required. Additional education, training, and/or certification(s) preferred. 2. At least two (2) years of related experience in food and beverage purchasing, inventory control, and/or cost control required. The ideal candidate will have three (3) years of experience working in food and beverage purchasing in hospitality. 3. Strong analytical and math skills, and a solid knowledge of purchasing and inventory/cost control practices, philosophies, and methodologies. 4. Proven commitment to delivering world class (internal and external) guest service. 5. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; must also be able to quickly learn and master Biltmore's inventory and accounting systems and reporting protocols. 6. Outstanding organizational, planning, and project/time management skills with a keen attention to detail and focus on quality. 7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; must be able to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively with a range of audiences, and convey technical information in a manner that is easily understood. 8. Solid negotiation skills and the ability to maintain positive, professional relationships with vendors and staff. Physical Requirements: 1. Requires moderate physical activity, handling of average-weight objects, up to 50 pounds, and standing and/or walking for up to ten (10) hours per day. 2. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions. 3. Must be able to climb stairs and ladders as needed to access historic estate locations/venues. 4.
