Purchasing Assistant

West Chester, PA- Growing chemical distributor has a direct hire opening for a Purchasing Assistant. This person will be responsible for heavy customer service to customers and vendors.

Hours= Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm

Salary= $40,000-$45,000


  • Communicate with chemical suppliers to obtain pricing, availability, delivery schedule, and well as contract requirements

  • Be the point of contact for procurement discrepancies by communicating with customers and suppliers, and interfacing with internal business partners

  • Resolving customer service issues, concerns and escalate as necessary

  • Administer customer contract requirements

  • Ensure supplier compliance

  • Prepare purchase orders for chemicals, process all paperwork, initiate order revisions

  • Obtain delivery status, or quantity/quality that is needed

  • Organize shipping logistics of purchases, including confirming delivery addresses

Working hours: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM


  • Strong Customer Service skills

  • Ability to be responsive to requests

  • Ability to work with a positive approach when engaging both internal and external clients

  • Team player

  • Detail oriented

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize


  • High School Diploma

  • 2+ year's purchasing or supply chain industry experience

  • OR 3+ years Customer Service experience

  • Strong computer skills

  • Upbeat positive demeanor
