To assist the Pharmacy with the purchase and placement of medications. To oversee the bar-coding process of medications.
Responsible for the routine expediting, reviewing receipts and updating of information on the computerized PMM/Wholesale computer system in order to communicate delays in shipping and delivery requests.
Assures that orders arrive promptly.
Works consistently to reconcile the monthly open order report.
Communicates delays/backorders effectively.
Suggests alternative vendors or product substitutions.
Works with suppliers to rectify the situation.
Revises purchase order information when changes occur.
Maintains records of controlled substances purchases and outdates according to Policy and Procedure.
Oversee and perform bar-coding process of medications.
Knowledgeable of equipment used for bar-coding.
Knowledgeable of vendor with appropriate bar-codes on products.
Monitors medication inventory levels of bar-coded meds and bar-codes.
Communication about bar-codes, NDC's, outs to Pharmacy personnel (Director, Manager, IT Pharmacists).
Accountable to the Pharmacy Director on all daily purchasing activities and works closely on any problems that may fall outside the range of authority delegated to the Pharmacy Inventory Clerk. Perform special functions as assigned and required by the Pharmacy Manager.
Monitors the appropriateness of products requested electronically.
Screens for capital equipment orders.
Screens for large dollar orders.
Prepares bids as assigned and reports results to the Director.
Prepares spreadsheets as assigned in analyzing contracts.
Collects information on and places capital equipment orders.
Receives incoming pharmaceuticals and supplies and verifies accuracy of shipment.
Places orders and maintains designated stock levels within the PMM/Wholesales computer system following predetermined guidelines set down by the Director of Pharmacy. Places various orders with vendors after the Pharmacy Manager has determined purchase order variables of price and vendor selection.
Knowledgeable of the PMM and Wholesales Computer system.
Demonstrates the ability to create requisitions, process purchase orders, perform inquiries, and maneuver through the various sub menus.
Knowledgeable of products and vendors when placing orders.
Provides information to customers with regard to alternate suppliers.
Displays an understanding of the products purchased.
Practices good prudent buyer concepts.
Gathers all purchase order variables (price, quantity, warranty, shipping information, etc.)
Verifies "Premier" contract status or regional contract status.
Acquires quotes when necessary.
Recommends products for a formal bid process.
Monitors inventory levels in Pharmacy.
Assures that stock outs do not occur.
Review suggested order for appropriateness and adjust inventory levels accordingly.
Assures that lead times are appropriate.
Provide updates to the PMM System. (Price, description change, unit of measure, vendor change, etc.)
Reviews inventory levels and orders pharmaceutical products and supplies.
Orders controlled substances per Pharmacy Policy and Procedure.
Places orders for physicians/offices/clinics.
Identifies obsolete inventory and removes it from the department.
Determine PAR levels and work with the Pharmacy Manager to recommend reductions.
Establish reorder points based on lead times in order to operate as a just in time system.
