Job Description
The Purchaser position is responsible for the vital role in our organization of procuring essential commodity materials while upholding high quality standards, ensuring competitive pricing and adherence to the procurement process. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of purchasing processes, strategically secure materials and have thorough attention to detail.
Principle Accountabilities:
1.Works directly with Production Control Planning Department to validate the most accurate forecast available.
2.Inputs stock status and forecast data into customized program. Works mainly in SAP program to establish monitor consumption requirements.
3.Purchase items in accordance with established policies and procedures.
4.Evaluate, purchase and expedite materials for our facilities at a competitive cost.
5.Expedites deliveries where required.
6.Conducts/initiates periodic cycle count physical inventories to ensure theoretical stocks match actual quantities on hand.
7.Assists Accounting department in preparing bill of material presentations. Assists QA department and R &D with materials for new products.
8.Confers with suppliers concerning late deliveries and out of spec deliveries
9.Gain working knowledge of category / commodity to support business objectives.
Assist in developing Supplier Relationship Management programs that focus on Quality, Productivity and Innovation.
Collect, analyze and monitor category specific information on spend. Work with QA and Corporate Buyers on supplier performance, compliance, standards and specifications, industry benchmarks.
Manage company and vendor facility visitation.
Backup support for scheduling procurement of packaging materials
Must adhere to all GMP and Food Safety Policies and Practices

Bachelors or Associates Degree
2+ years of food manufacturing experience
SAP experience
Purchasing experience within the manufacturing industry
Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between
$45,790.00 - $74,005.00
Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
