We are currently seeking a Purchase Order/Receiving Specialist that will assist in ensuring that the company receives orders placed and purchasing process completed in order to pay our vendors in a timely manner.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Create approved purchase orders within Netsuite program.
Maintains all open purchase orders and attaches shipping/receiving documents to appropriate PO for proper receiving.
Maintains direct contact with plant purchasers/managers to ensure timely processing of all PO's created.
Submits PO's to proper approving managers for approval in Netsuite program.
Contacts appropriate purchaser when issues arise with a PO to keep process flowing smoothly.
Collaborates with Accounts Payable personnel to ensure a small work in process queue is maintained and managed appropriately.
Assists in help train and mentor new purchasers/approvers when hired within the Western Division.
Assists Accounts Payable in reconciling any open PO's each month.
Copies, files, and retrieves materials for Accounts Payable as needed.
Relays changes of information to appropriate employees.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs - NetSuite experience a plus.
Ability to operate related office equipment, such as computers, 10-key calculator, and copier.
Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with vendors and internal teammates.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
At least two years of related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
